I hope you like it, I find them to be very entertaining.

Right now I just started The Defector by Daniel Silva. I enjoy Silva's Gabriel Allon series, but I wish he would write someone new. At this point the character is so far removed from the first novel, I think it takes away some of the greatness of that book. I think it would have been much better if Silva left that one as a stand alone novel and started a new character for his next three books which were a very loose trilogy.

Just finished "Gears of War : Jacinto's Remnant". Book 2 in the series by Karen Traviss.

Thought it was very well written and I had a hard time putting it down. Got me excited for the next Gears game so I can get more of the story. The ending felt a little flat for me...would have liked more info on the Locusts....but I know they are probably saving that for the third game. This was a nice way to expand on the ending of game 2 and provide a little bit more back story to the main characters. I give it an 8/10.

Just started reading "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" by Stieg Larsson. Was a bit of a slow start for me with all the financial stuff that was starting to bore me to tears..but now things are kicking off quite nicely. Looking forward to seeing how this mystery/conspiracy wraps up.

I agree more story on the locusts. the ending did seem to be building on something major happening in the game.

Finished Gathering Storm - probably the best Wheel of Time book since the early ones. Stuff actually happens! Now have to wait another year for the next one :(.

Picked up Eoin Colfer's sequel to Douglas Adams Hitchhiker series. Can't say that I've laughed even once.

I don't think I've ever read a sequel to a book by a different author that was any good.

How is the Wheel of Time series? It sounds intriguing, but from what I've read in reviews the first books are good but after awhile they are long and drawn out with very little movement. From your comment I'm guessing that is a true statement, but even with that, are they good?

Finished "Blood Meridian." Can't remember how many times I've read it. Still a masterpiece though. One of the greatest American Novels ever written.

Finally getting around to one I've put off for years. "100 Years of Solitude" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

Just finished book five in the Codex Alera series by Jim Butcher. Starting the sixth and final book tonight.

I think they are excellent. The Dresden Files is probably my favorite series and waiting for the next installment can be downright painful. Especially since I only get the paperback for uniformity. Which is why I'm really pissed about the change in paperbacks size. But I digress, I find the Codex Alera series to be as great as the Dresden series. I'm not a big fantasy reader but these books completely sucked me in.

Were you a fan of the Dresden Files show??? I liked it and wish it was still on even if they changed a lot of it.
~~I really want to read Death Masks, but its constantly checked out and I've had it on reserve for a month now. Either the list is really long or someone isn't bothering to return it.

Some of the changes bothered me. His hockey stick and that drum stick bothered me most. But the show was pretty, I wish it was still on.

Finished Dearly Devoted Dexter and loved it. Both books so far are kick ***. I have to get the others now. The show is still alot better though.

Started reading Skeleton Crew by Stephen King last night.

Just finished The Wasp Factory last night.

That book is sick and twisted! Highly recommend it to and sick individuals out there who like a good mind ????.
