Speaking about what people were wearing. Did anyone notice that Leia went back to her episode IV white robe at the end of Empire.

You silly kids. Didn't any of you watch Muppet Show? Filmed before Empire, Luke was wearing his Bespin fatiges/pilot's ground outfit. So OBVIOUSLY that's what he wore. I mean, come on, it's the Muppet Show!!!
:rotfl
Besides, he was an official rebel officer from Yavin on. He would naturally be in uniform.

'Course, that didn't stop Han from sticking with his smuggling threads. Still, that's just the kind of maverick he was.

I think Luke changes outfits more times than Leia in the Trilogy. They both take after their mom in that regard.

Luke:

Tatooine outfit
Tatooine outfit with poncho
Stormtrooper outfit
X-wing outfit
Yavin Cerimonial outfit
Hoth outfit
Snowspeeder outfit (slight variation on the X-wing fit)
Bacta tank Diapers
Bespin outfit
Bespin outfit with shirt removed during Dagobah training
Medical frigate robes
Jedi outfit with vest
Jedi outfit
Endor outfit

Leia:
White outfit
Yavin Cerimony
Hoth outfit
Bespin red dress
Bespin escape (Hoth outfit without vest)
Bounty hunter outfit
Slave outfit
Endor outfit
General outfit underneath Endor poncho
Ewok outfit

Yes, I have extra time on my hands today.

Wasn't Leia wearing something different at the very end of ESB as well while looking out into space with Luke?

I would imagine he wore different outfits. Farm outfit for lounging around the secret base. Yellow ceremony jacket outfit for nights out on the town with Han and Leia. X-wing pilot ground gear when on duty. And I'm sure he had a leaisure suit or two as well. I would hope he had a few other outfits too, unless the alliance was able to get laudry soap smuggled to them pretty easily.

Okay, I have a new theory which should suit everyone: Luke retained his Tatooine outfit for covert ops when he didn't want to be identified as a Rebel (like when Qui-Gon donned the poncho to go undercover on Tatooine). And maybe for casual wear too (after all, it's what he was accustomed to after 20 years).

The rest of the time he wore Rebel attire (X-wing uniform, ground uniform, dress uniform etc).

Whadday'all think??

I belive Luke became a nudist and wore no cloths during that time, but then found being a nudist in the snow didnt work well, especially with the ladies.

Actually, as silly and non-canonical as both the Holiday Special and Muppet Show were, they at least showed us what Lucas approved as the "default" costumes at the time. Between the live-action and animated sequences in the Holiday Special, Luke pretty much wore his entire New Hope wardrobe, but again, that was probably because no other costume concepts had yet been devised.

The Muppet Show proves that the X-wing pilot ground uniform (aka Bespin fatigues) was Luke's general-purpose outfit when the environment didn't call for particular gear (eg Hoth).

So thanks again Captain!

Wow! I NEVER noticed that!! I must have seen ESB at least a hundred times!! Thansk for pointing that out!!!

Not to hijack the thread .........You know what I've ALWAYS wanted to know about ESB. The scene where Lando turns Han and CO. over to Vader. WHAT did they talk about over that brunch?(yeah you know it was a brunch :lol ). That must have a VERY uncomfortable meal!!

Thanks for that. Yeah, it seems there was a black bodysuit underneath the X-wing uniform, and the separate ground uniform (aka Bespin fatigues) to change into.
