There's been very little news of late. Very little interest it seems too. Yeah, the figures were at SDCC, but again no sculpts were clearly visible.

So what's the deal? When are these coming? And why no further announcements? Has HT backed off to pursue the Bat? Is there another Fox debacle with likeness rights like Predator?

Has the Joker stolen everyone's limelight?

im still excited about the figs. im with you though, i would like to see some more pics & news on the sculpts. crossing fingers that they are the ones originally shown.

Sadly it would suck if everybody and their mom cancelled their pre-orders and killed the Alien line. Which would totally suck since I wanted a Alien Figure from the first movie :monkey2

The sculpts where there. When we took them down i had the chance to look at them! Sorry i forgot to pituvision it!!:banghead

Yes, that would suck. The Joker is on a rampage -- just look at the avatars around here. Everyone and their momma has a Joker avatar. The movie is stealing energy from all other lines.

Predator has disappeared....

ALIEN has gone silent -- no one can hear it scream...

Pirates has sunk to Davy Jones Locker...

And the only thing people seem to want to talk about is Joker, Batman, and a hundred threads updating everyone on the status -- or lack of -- their orders. Like anyone really cares.

This insanity is EXACTLY what the Joker wanted. Total chaos. He HAS won!

P!tu you had the best coverage of Kane and Dallas and I am ready for them to ship.

Sadly, I did have to cancel my preorder for both of these figures. But as you can see my my avatar, I do still like them very much. And when asked if they were final head sculpts at San Diego, by myself, the Sideshow staff said that they are indeed final head sculpts. Wish I could afford everything...

:(

This is one line I was really hoping would survive... but it's just back timing with Bat-mania.

With all the cancelations -- and don't fool yourself, most everyone who preordered has cancelled to pay for Bats -- I wouldn't hold my breath for any further figures other than what may have been in development already (meaning the final third spacesuit Lambert and maybe Ripley in white spacesuit).

The Giger Alien is a must, and they should still offer that because they know it will sell... but my hopes are lost for a 7 member crew at this point. I just can't see people buying them in the numbers needed to make them worthwhile for HT to make.

So if there's any "line" at all it's most likely this Dallas and Kane...

...with a possible Lambert and Ripley late this year, and a Giger Alien to finish it off.

The one bonus for the disinterest right now: Dallas and Kane should become very valuable in the years to come since it looks like so few people are going to buy them. It's gonna be a very limited run.

These figures will become the next Hicks. Mark my words.

wor-gar are you basing this feeling on what you are reading on this board or do you frequent other boards as well and seeing the same kind of posts?

this is really the only board i go to so i honestly dont know what the interest is anywhere else.

i would hate to see this line die before it ever comes to life.....:google

Actually this is the first I've heard of people canceling these for the Batman figures. I certainly didn't. They're pretty high on my list of wants.

Someone just posted in this thread that they cancelled. I've read about many others. Seems like when it comes down to $300+, people's money is going to other figures right now. That may change once these figures are actually announced as arriving. But with so many cancelling before money's even due, seems like the interest has waned.

interesting............can anyone answer this though?

sideshow is a distributor for hot toys but if they didnt really sell enough of a certain product/line would it be enough for hot toys to stop the line altogether?

again i honestly dont know but have often wondered about the hot toys/ssc distribution relationship and how it all works.

I would doubt it. I don't know, but I doubt it. Being Hong Kong based, I'm sure they have a significant following in Asia.

"HOT TOYS action figures are sold by our strategic worldwide distributors in most of the Asian countries (Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand etc.) and Northern America (US and Canada) and Europe (Switzerland, Germany and UK etc.)."

i cancelled mine, for jp T-Rex diorama.

I love JP so that ain't so bad I wish I was into dioramas to buy it myself, anyways before I side track myself. I wish I had the funds to buy Dallas and Kane I mean its true they could be the next Hicks, which would totally suck cause I can be one of those people saying man I could have pre ordered for 150.00 or whatever the going rate for them is now.
On another sad note Joker may be the last 1/6th figure I get for a while :horror :monkey1

I'm not worried about it... HT figures usually do well and these have been figures fans have been clamoring for a long time now. I only ordered Kane, but I have no plans to cancel.

Well, you can count me in the list of people who just ordered these two. I put my preorder in a week ago. I may pick up two of each now that I know some have cancelled. I am only interested in the first Alien and first Predator movie collectibles. They were the original, and best, so for Hot Toys to cancel the collectibles from these two movies is stupid IMO.
