but Like I was saying before, What is there to say about the girls that Dress as Alex for Halloween? a rapist? girls that are dressing up as a rapist? I mean, isn't that like, really F___ed up?

and, Another movie that I think is worst than ClockWork Orange is, American Psycho, that is really way worst, and yet, a lot of people love it, a lot of people love the character, and there are women who like the movie, which makes me wonder, WTF?

I do not enjoy watching rape of abuse scenes, But a lot of people Love Alex, is a character that is just a part of the culture now, and like I Was saying before, Even Bart Simpson dressed like him, I mean, is a cartoon dressing their boy character as a rapist,I think is not that big of a deal now, I mean people loving Alex.
That's what I was trying to say from the beginning, I don't think people like the rape scenes, but people that Love Alex and the movie, is a lot of people, he is just a character people like. I dont think that makes them weird or anything
Is like when people Buy the 18 inch American Psycho figure because they love the character,

I've only seen bits and pieces of Clockwork Orange so I can't really say. I don't even know how his character turns out in the end. And don't tell me. :lol

So, at the end of the day...am I right to say that this is all just a personal feeling of yours and not something that is felt by most people?

Well, I think there's a reason why more people watched ET or Indiana Jones ROTLA than Friday the 13th part 8. I think, in general, on average, people prefer to watch something more pleasant to the senses than shocking. While we do have that curiosity gene, I think people can get their fill of gore more easily than onscreen kissing on car chases or those well choregraphed fights.

Is there any movie that fewer people have watched than Friday the 13th part 8?

I hate watching rape scenes and that's why I've never watched Clockwork, scenes like that make me so angry. I agree that what makes rape worse than a straight death scene is the aftermath of it. A lot of women commit suicide after rape as they are unable to cope.

Back OT and I will probably get a lot of abuse for this :lol but Terminator 2 *ducks* I love movie in general but I can't abide Furlong and his annoying squeaky voice, he really spoils that movie for me.

wow i was just about to mention clockwork orange. i saw parts of it on TV once and i was truly appalled. when i found out this movie came out in the early 70's, it was like wow, they were allowed to show this kind of crap back then? its amazing. this is why i hate kubrick. his movies are just pure shlock and grotesque. dr strangelove was interetsiong but virtually everything else is just crap.

other movies i find irritating that other people seem to love:

the nolan batman movies. bland as can be.
5 easy pieces. seriously, how boring and pointless can one movie be?
avatar. i dont get it. and i dont care to. why not just make a pixar movie out of it cameron? blue people? please.

then again i hate most movies in the 2000's. i think LOTR's are the only movies that were released that i genuinly LOVE. amazing series of movies. after that, cant think of much else.

I think you're wrong. But whatever. I have that American Psycho figure. Patrick Batemen is a great character. Doesn't mean I have to agree with what he does, but he was just a funny, fun interesting character. Bale knocked that out of the park.

Same with Alex DeLarge. He was a well rounded, well developed character that brought some great points about human beings, and all that.

What about The Joker? Why do people buy Heath Ledger's twisted evil nasty character? Because he's awesome. He created a great character.

No one dresses up like any of these people, or buy's their products because they agree with what they do, or their opinions, but because they are interesting characters.

Why is that so hard to grasp? :lol

The Predator killed people. Most of them didn't deserve it. You're crazy and deserved to be shot to death because you like an evil Alien killer. :lol

predator is a bad guy alien, its like any other movie monster that kills people like frankenstien or wolfman. and he gets his in the end. but when you have a human being doing atrocious things like rapeing women and killing people and doing things like trashing classical music by including it in such activities is just way more disturbing. and then theres the sexual stuff of that movie which makes me literally want to puke.

this shouldnt even be an argument.

And you're still acting like the boring ass morality police.

:lol

You're completely missing the point, and on another note, I'm surprised that this thread has gotten so off-topic. I mean, we were supposed to discuss about "movies that everyone else loves but you hate". There are a lot of people that I disagree with in this thread, and could spend time writing a few pages of critique. But, I understand that those who post here are in the minority with their views, so the smart-ass comments (such as yours) are completely unnecessary, and in my opinion, isn't contributing to the original intent of this thread.

Yep. People should feel free inn this thread to shout to the world what a rubbish movie 'Amelie' was without having to defend their distaste for coquettish French chicks. For example.

I think you're missing it too, Mr. OP. Why should anyone feel the need to defend anything? I've seen your posts, and so far, you haven't been doing any of that, other than "shouting to the world", yourself. That's not to say that we can't discuss about the points that we disagree on, but when people become the focus of childish attacks, and outright sarcasm, simply because they stated their view (views, which pigeonhole them in the minority, by the way) doesn't that actually destroy the hopes of any sort of rational discourse? :dunno

Er, did you even read my post? I can't type any slower. You'll just have to read it slower :wink1:

Weren't you being sarcastic? :lol

That time I was actually being straight :lol

I figured that a thread like this would only really work if people weren't challenged on their choice. As you say, there should be room for intelligent discussion, but calling people out on their movie dislikes - or what characters they should like or not - kind of misses the point.

So yeh, add Amelie to my list. I don't care how many of y'all loved it, it sucked balls! (...imo :monkey3 )

lol okay, my apologizes then :bow. I guess I've been too jaded by these boards, that seemingly innocent replies seem to be like sarcasm. Maybe I should stop hanging out in the DC forum so much :slap.
