For some reason, I just couldn't remember it, I notice it in the movie because it's cool cinematography to zoom in on the eyes like they do, but I just couldn't remember it off the top of my head, goofy I know.

Hey Sean did Hot Toys ever confirm that a DX figure would be in fact a figure made based on previous MMS releases? Or was that just speculation. Can't remember.

No, it was way back in April when they announced Joker and I don't have the exact release anymore, but the official word on the DX line was basically that DX figures would be figures that are above and beyond a standard MMS release, no word on what characters would get it or anything, just that the figures in it would go beyond what you'd get out of a regular MMS figure, which means features like PERS, LED lit bases, and deluxe ammounts/size/quality of accessories.

That's why I'm hopeful if they do Rambo and it's from the 4th film, we could get the 50 cal machine gun, maybe even as a part of his display base, because a weapon that size is certainly beyond standard figures.

However, I would think John Connor 2 having the Hydrobot might constitute DX, sure there's no PERS but that Hydrobot isn't a simple accessory by any means.

i want a dx ROBOCOP with murphy headsculpt and interchangeable battle-damaged armour!!

come on, hot toys, this is an easy one for u guys!

please? :D

I could be wrong, but I see DX's coming after a regular version, so I guess The Pedator, Dutch, Robo-Cop, Iron Man, Jack Sparrow etc are open, but as there aren't regular figs of the Arnie T-800 or 'chunkster' Rambo yet I can't see them 'jumping' to DX without seeing how well they sell in the normal versions.

The DX is a way perfecting and making a hugely popular figure available again for those that missed out + it means many of the collectors who feel the need to upgrade can sell their old one ,so the secondary market gets flooded and the price becomes closer to retail for the older figure, which is a good thing for people who just want the original figure!

At least thats how I see it!

EDIT

Forgot to say, I'd like to see Jack and the Pred!

Terminator T-2!

With two leather sets
With three head sculpts
Two sets of hands
Two grenade guns, damage and undamaged
9mm pistol
Classic shot gun
The M16, used for 5 seconds but still awesome :rock
Gas Grenade Gun

I think thats all......

based on PERS alone, i'd say the most obvious choice is jack sparrow. and with movie 4 on its way, it's a no brainer.

Robocop all the way. I mean, how do we not have a battle damaged Robocop already? We need it!

^word.

I hope they make the announcement soon. I'm this close of getting a cannibal jack.

I hope they make a DX with a bruce head as well for the next batman installment. And Michael Jackson, I'd cop any black or white version of MJ.

I truly hope not, and it would be unwise of Hot Toys to do this, they've gotten away with it so far, but there'll come a point when people look at a regular release figure, go, you know odds are, there'll be a better, DX version later, I'll just pass. It's not in their best interest to release inferior versions one time and superior down the road. Everyone's been really into getting the best Dark Knight stuff so they've gotten away with it for a couple figures, but there'll come a point where it bites them in the ass. They need to demonstrate to people that some figures will just be done to the full DX accurracy and quality from the get go and that they need not fear ever buying a first release. People already say the minute a new figure debuts, oh I'll just wait for the DX, two Dark Knight revisits is all it took to burn that notion in collectors minds, and Iron Man isn't helping either, they need to make some DX figures that are only ever DX to start wiping that notion from people's minds and help their regular sales.

I don't know, i would say mid-late 2010 before you hear anything from Hot Toys about Pirates of the Caribbean, best case is when the film's shooting which won't be until next year, and right now, Depp's a question mark.

DX is about PERS.

Don't think a PERS on robocop is any good since its all hidden underneath the visor.

DX is not about PERS, the PERS technology is one of the things that, right now, you're only going to find used on DX figures, but the DX line is about deluxe, above and beyond in production quality and quality and number of contents in the package than what you would find in a normal MMS release, that's what HT's press release back when Joker came eluded too. Odds are, every DX will use PERS somehow, but it isn't he defining trait of a DX figure.

Okay, so what else could they've add on to make it a DX? I mean, godfather is a fine example. With two bases, a chair, a background, whole bunch of accessories, its still just a MMS. Same case with the upcoming mark 3 BD.

I dunno, mate. I think DX is all bout the PERS. Its the essence of DX. Batman is a good example of DX. Its almost a similar product they have released earlier, with a very few accesories (even a 'mere' mark 3 BD have more stuffs than the DX batman) compared to the joker DX, but because of the PERS, it can be called a DX product.

I agree man, Pers Is what justifies us paying extra for the DX. If the DX figures didn't include the Pers tecnology, I doubt as many people would be buying them.
