What was the best TV series finale?

I wasn't even alive when it aired, but it's one of my favorite shows even if it's not on anymore. I would have to go with the finale of M*A*S*H.

Amazing ending to an amazing show. Never pretentious, never overly ambitious, The Wonders years for me was an honest and realistic look at a boy growing up in an era of changes. They don't make them like this anymore.

Just a rant but the Roseanne ending sucked balls. Basically at some point the show stopped becoming real and was just a novel written by Roseanne's character...her mom is really a lesbian, Darlene is with Mark and Becky was really with David (but as Roseanne said, they always seemed to fit better the other way around, so that's how she "wrote" it)...Dan died years ago, but when he did it felt like he had cheated on her (which was the reason for the long storyline of Dan actually cheating on the show)...man it just seemed asinine.

OMG I hated that too. That ending just seemed really pointless.

But back on topic, I would have to say my favorite series finale was The Shield.

I would live to add the finale for Scrubs. I know it's not really the finale of the show, since ABC wants to keep this show alive as a zombie, but for many of us I'm sure that was the end. And what a pitch perfect end it was. J.D. gets everything that he wanted finally, and his look to what his future may hold was beautiful.
