True to an extent but, SS's dome is sheet bwai!.If i had to say which one looks(nevermind scale) more true to the movie its representing, then i would have to pic ROTJ Medicom Vader, i do like both though..they're different lines right.I hope SS makes a more accurate dome for an ESB version of Vader, then i think they would have pretty much made the best out of the box Vader in 1/6th scale.

EVERY way?? How about scale??

If scale is a big thing for you. I own two Medi figures, like 20 or so Hot Toys figures, and two DCD and they all sit on my shelf. I have no problems with scale, so with that in mind, the Medi Alien is superior in every way IMO. Medi's is more accurate and (again IMO) just better looking. It looks like the actor did while wearing the Alien suit. HT's couldn't get a lot of the small and big details right. Most of what HT does beats Medicom, but not in this case.

Haven't we been through all this Dome stuff before?

Yes, the Dome on Sideshow is not as it should be, but I'm sure a lot of us agreed that Medicom's Vader mask looked like a pig.
Swings and roundabouts as we say in Blighty

Exactly.

I already said I don't care about scale. The Medicom one simply looks more like Vader, and is made from better quality parts. It also has a removeable dome, so for me it wins by a mile.

Does no-one rate their TIE Fighter Pilot, or Emperor's Royal Guard? They're next on my "To buy" list.

I have them both because my SW focus are OT Imperials. They are really neat, but the lack of accessories and high cost makes you think twice if getting them for full price. The Royal Guard comes only with the Force Pike but the wired robe looks great. The TIE Fighter Pilot is maybe even better designed (the helmet is more accurate than Marmit version), but has no weapon or accessory (I use a SS E-11 blaster). Both are of course slightly shorter than SS figs, but I never cared about this.

I don't mind the price if they are good quality. If I can get them for less than GBP 100, I'm happy. There's a Sandtrooper on for £110 at the moment, I might make him an offer. Sadly no Tie Pilots or Royal Guards available in the UK at the moment.

Glad to hear that the robe is wired on the Royal Guard. Makes a big difference to getting Vader in realistic poses.

I have all Imperials from Medicom: ROTJ & ROTS Vader, Stormtrooper, Blackhole Stormtrooper, Sandtrooper, Royal Guard and TIE Fighter Pilot and I like them all.

Vader, the Fetts, and Maul are the best versions of the figures on the market as it stands. IMO everything else they put out is more of "eye of the beholder" preferences. Nothing else they have produced has ever interested me, and that includes all of their Dark Knight figures. It just seems that Hot Toys does a better job with the same figures that Medicom makes.

Simple for me....

I enjoy variety and I like that Medicom's figures are usually quite stylized, different and interesting. My only real problem with Medicom is the prices. They shouldn't cost over $65 in most cases.

star wars was never medi's core products. Their main focus has always been kamen Riders and I would say those are better than ever.

Yup!
That's where Medicom really shine, the Kamen Rider figures!!! Or all they other Tokusatsu figures.

All exceptionally made & lifelike costumes.

Hi all

I'm seriously considering buying a Medicom Mad Hatter from the recent Alice in Wonderland film.

I've found one for a reasonable(ish) price & like the look of the fig.

Thing is, I stopped buying medi due to breakage issues, I've heard that recent releases (Han Solo, Anakin) use an improved body which is stronger, anyone know if this is the case? And does anyone own the Mad Hatter and have some inhand pictures/review of it?

Be glad of any input or opinions you might have.

Oh by the way it's the first release I'm looking at, although the new version in the kilt and blue coat looks even better to me!!

I dont know exactly when medicom started using a newer, sturdier body. The only one that I have seen any difference than the older 301 is Kaneda from akira with different shoulder joint.

There seem to be a lot less report about breakage lately but that might be due to a lot less people here buying medicom stuff and the people that still do buy them could just be more careful.
