That's interesting minivader, it was always the shoulder joints I had issues with (appart from that one time with Venom Punishers hip!)

If it's a revised joint on Kenada. I'd imagine it's the same on Mad Hatter.

Any chance if a picture of the new joint? Be nice to see what they changed.

Thanks anyhow for the info.

their Kamen riders series is freakin awesome.

All of my Marvel figures except blade have broke. My spidey looks like he got hit with a mortar and venom looks just as bad. And i barely ever move my figures. Spider broke standing up in his stand. I just moved him to a new shelf and noticed the leg was snapped at the hip.

b/c of all that breakage i stopped buying. I much prefer SS and HT nowadays. But if i had a hookup for the Riders i would buy them all up.

Exactly.

I already said I don't care about scale. The Medicom one simply looks more like Vader, and is made from better quality parts. It also has a removeable dome, so for me it wins by a mile.

I agree, never thought the SS head looked right. The medi one looks screen accurate. To me that's most important. I guess it depends in what you are looking for from your collectibles, for me personally it's screen accuracy. But each to their own.

:lecture I had the Medicom Peter Parker for a month. Unboxed him, posed him once, had him on display and finally decided I wasn't that interested in keeping him. When I went to put him back in the box, his hip just broke as I picked him up. I'd also owned a Spider-Man 3 red & blue version that had a broken shoulder, and I think I also had a hip go out on one of my Medicom SW clone troopers.

I've only bought one Medicom figure since then (Robby the Robot, who no one else has ever made in 1/6th scale). I very much doubt I'll buy anything else made by them.

thats why i stopped buying medi figures. too much risk of breakage at that price point.

Plastic seems to be better now, I don't think it will break like before ... well I hope, but there's still risks for some articulations yes.

Wish it was easier to replace the bodies for the Riders once they break. I wouldn't mind putting some of my riders on a HT body but those body suits are a pain to work with.

That's where the scale thing is a real issue. When my stormtrooper ankle snapped I couldn't simply get another RAH301 because they're only available at huge expense on the second market.

The medi bodies pose and hang beautifully - but paying medi prices for such dodgy plastic and quality control means I have sworn off all medicom figures unless they're in the bargain basement bin.

I have heard good things about their Kamen Riders though - I am giving medicom one last chance with my first Rider due this month.

there is a picture of the new shoulder joint from the akira kaneda thread:

note: I can't be certain if this new shoulder design is across the board in all the new figures. Medicom is well known for making unique body parts for a single figure, and this might be the case here.

if you are thinking of using TT slim, I can tell you its a bad idea. I did that with 3 medi figures and all 3 TT slim have more breakage issue than the medicom 301. The knees, elbows, even the hips all have problems. And the price for a slim TT nowadays are crazy. $60 - $70 shipped. IMHO, slim TT are about the same durability as the older RAH301.

Hey, thanks minivader, that's an interesting shot of Kaneda!
Not just new shoulders but a whole new torso/abdomen section.

Think I need to investigate if that is now the "standard" body for RAH figures, and if it was used on the Mad Hatter.

I'd be willing to give it a try as I do like Medi figures, it was the price/durability lottery that stopped me buying.

Thanks very much mate!

Ah well, took the plunge! Ordered a Mad Hatter from Play.com

See what the qualities lie in a couple of days!

hi darthgothikus. Cool! Let us know if the mad hatter sports the new body. I think lately not many people undress their medis anymore.

Found this comparison review between the old MGS snake and the new cold war snake on onesixthwarrior.

https://www.onesixthwarriors.com/fo...7730-review-rah-naked-snake-cold-war-ver.html

Looks like its got the new torso and ab but not the shoulders. And some changes in the joints and such. BTW, I think the first time I saw that new torso was on a the kamen rider old 1 figure w/ his bike hurricane that was released awhile ago.

Thanks for all the info minivader, should have him in hand later today or tomorrow.

Just found the "Medicom Mad Hatter" thread over in the Disneyania (or whatever it's called) section, so I'll post some pictures/review over there when I get time. (off on holiday Friday, so might be a little while).

Just got hold of Mad Hatter today, couple of quick pics and first thoughts over in the relevant thread in Dinsneyana...:)
