Yeah, it looks good. I borrowed a book on the history of Barbie recently - I was going through a whole lot of random toy history books at the time - and a lot of the film/celebrity licence Barbies looked really good head sculpt/likeness wise, I thought. I always thought they kept with a kind of generic type look for everything, like they made everything look 'Barbie,' but no, their Frank Sinatra and 'Gone with the Wind,' those sort of figures, looked really quite good, I was surprised.

Not exactly Hot Toys quality, but a pretty rare 12 inch fig from Japan of my favorite wrestler Keiji Mutoh, a.k.a. the Great Muta.

Barbie Mad Hatter - Don't laugh. I can't afford the Medicom version now.

Probably better than the Medicom version. I have no issue with a cool toy, no matter what it is.

Great Muta! He was great--master of the fast elbow drop and moonsault. I really enjoyed him, Masahiro Chono, Kensuke Sasaki, and the various Jr. guys from NJPW back in the day.

I used to have the Battlebowl that he won on tape. I should find it and watch it again. Came down to him and Steve Austin if memory serves.

That actually looks really good.

What do you think the possibility is of swapping the outfit onto a true type slim body?

Also, do you mind me asking how much the Barbie one was (Im betting Barbie + True Type body = big saving!

Cheers
Colin

the proportions are just about the same as the true type, although not sure about taking the clothing off. Don't know if you'd want to though it has good articulation and for the money the quality is ridiculous. It was $59.99 at TRU.

Well my understanding is that they are trying to get back the market control they once had before stiff competion, I was amazed at the sculpt and quality for the price. Their Twilight figures were better than the Tonner stuff.

I picked up all three Hot Toys Appleseed figures from three different online retailers. I haven't had the chance to crack open their boxes yet.

The Takara CG13 V.I.S. This one is still brand new in it's box, too. But I'll be taking her out for fresh air soon. :D

Also, scored my first SS PF figure. Elvira on ebay for $158. I guess that's a pretty decent price for being new and in perfect condition, along with being an exclusive edition.

I'm still waiting patiently for the Takara CG Deunan Knute figure I ordered to arrive from the Japanese retailer that had her on Sale.
Cool-Girl-Deunan-Knute.jpg

But what's a little frustrating with this CG Deunan Knute figure order is the tracking information from the US Postal Service shows the package arrived in the U.S. on February 5th and then held in U.S. Customs. I found out it was sent back to Japan via the Japan Post website. And now it looks like my package is being sent again back to the U.S. as of February 25th. :banghead

Here's what the USPS website's tracking says now:
Your item left TOKYO INT D, JAPAN on February 25, 2010.
Detailed Results:
Foreign International Dispatch, February 25, 2010, 8:54 pm, TOKYO INT D, JAPAN
Origin Post is Preparing Shipment
Inbound International Arrival, February 05, 2010, 5:51 am, ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS)
Foreign International Dispatch, February 03, 2010, 10:03 am, TOKYO INT D, JAPAN
Foreign Arrival at Outward Office, February 02, 2010, 9:02 am, TOKYO INT D, JAPAN

Good grief, that CG figure is gonna have some serious jet lag when she is finally delivered to her new home in my display case.

Anyone have a similar experience?

Crack open the appleseed figures. they are ridonculous. I had major problems with Tereus's foot pegs, I was practically ready to throw it out the window. But Briareos is a thing of absolute beauty.

Your Japan shipping is probably pretty common now as they realize whats going on. I had issues because they sent it registered mail and required customer signature personal I got a postal note saying this was last attempt before returning two days before they had to send back. pain in da assets. good luck

Sorry to hear you had problems with Tereus's foot pegs. Those HT pegs can be a pain sometimes. If attaching the feet to the pegs was the problem, I usually soak the pegs in very hot water for a few seconds if they don't go on easily. Yeah, I do need to crack them open soon! They are amazing looking figures.

As for the Japan shipping, the CG figure was sent via registered mail, but I didn't receive an attempted delivery postal note. Also, it's being sent by the slower SAL (Surface Air Lift or Economy Air Mail) vs. EMS (Express Mail Service), which I heard SAL can take two to four weeks for delivery. Oh well, just have to keep waiting patiently.

Almost forgot, I also need to crack open this recent purchase that I got on Sale. Medicom RAH Motoko Kusanagi.
