I was thinking that this was going to be all CG - but those images are great! I loved this book too - I hope that when they fleshed it out it doesn't turn into Jumanji or Polar Express.

I have a feeling that's probably what Universal wanted and why they gave Jonze such a hard time. Seeing his previous work, I'm not worried.

Me neither. Jonze is brilliant. From Buddy Holly to Three Kings the guy has a vision and sees it through effectively IMO.

if I remember correctly this movie has been in creative development hell for awhile now.
I think theyve been reworking the look and feel of it. Been awhile since Ive seen any new shots.

Hopfully it will rock. Looks awesome visually so far ....

It has and these photos have been out for over a year now. They look great, but something must be going on behind the scenes to have this thing in limbo for so long.

I thought this whole thing was scrapped? Wasnt it edited all to hell or something? Less dark? Or did I read wrong....?

I can't get over the fact that they made a Boogyman 3, and a Vancancy 2.....(in the link Woff provided).

Wow, the creatures look amazing. Now someone refresh me, are they ALL costume, animatronics or were the faces CGI?

Last I heard they had to fight to prevent this from getting heavily re-edited and rewritten, because the studio thought it was too dark, with the main kid unlikeable...I hope that didn't happen, because someone who saw a screening of the raw original cut called it an amazing movie that truely captures the hard time where kids are starting to realize that the world doesn't revolve around them.

Those wild things looks amazing!!! Can't wait to see it. This was also my favorite book as a kid.

I heard Jonze first wanted to make the movie to look like the book, like RR did with Sin City. Think that could have been interesting to see.
