I tear up just watching the trailers. I don't know why. I have a feeling I'm going to be crying through the whole movie. It's rare that a movie gets my tears flowing.

Watching this tomorrow night. With the way things have been going for me personally, I'm fully expecting to be moved to tears with this. I can't wait, every time I see the trailers, I get more excited. Spike Jonze is just a genius.

I just found this thread! I was fortunate enough to see an advance screening last week with a Q&A afterward with Spike and members of his team...every one of whom was Spike's height (short!). No actors in attendance.

No spoilers here, but I loved this film. Beautiful.

There are two music sources: songs are by Karen O and the Kids, and their work will be on the soundtrack album. The score is by Carter Burwell, who has scored every Coen Brothers film. There's a "score" album, as opposed to the "soundtrack" album, already available as a download from Amazon. The score and the Karen O songs blend seamlessly.

When I saw it, I hadn't seen the cast credits for a while and couldn't remember who provided the voices. I figured out one actor halfway through the film, and was surprised at who the others were when the credits rolled. I'd say if you don't know, don't look. Just go with it.

Enjoy it, guys. It's a crazy, gentle, touching film. It's really stuck with me.

local paper gave this 3.5 out of 4 stars. its a must for me to see this. 1st film I'll see in theaters since gosh, HP6.

T-Bone Burnett is a producer. I don't recall him composing film scores.

He wears many hats.

In 2000, Burnett produced the soundtrack and wrote the score for the Coen Brothers film, O Brother, Where Art Thou?. The award-winning soundtrack featured music from Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss, Ralph Stanley, Gillian Welch, and others performing traditional American folk music, blues and bluegrass — reminiscent of Burnett's 1986 self-titled release. The album was a smash, garnering numerous industry awards from the Grammys, Academy of Country Music, and the Country Music Association.

His other credits as a composer are the following...

Crazy Heart
Walk The Line
Don't Come Knocking
Divine Secrets of The Ya-Ya Sisterhood
Gringo Mojado

I believe he wrote a lot of the music on The Ladykillers as well.

Burwell is also credited on "O Brother..." (and shares credit on "The Ladykillers" with T-Bone as well).

This film's soundtrack will be identified with Karen O. But the score album has lots of gems too. I'm saying, after you've seen the film you'll want to check out both albums.

Too bad they aren't being released together with the selections alternating like in the film, but I got a method of doing that using iTunes...:D

Very good movie.

Very minor "spoiler" regarding tone of the film:

It's depressing, so be prepared for sadness and gloom.

Just got back from watching it. I'm in the middle about about this one. I didn't really like or dislike it. Awesome visuals and soundtrack, the rest was meh imo.
