I don't know. I would have expected Nolan's Batman to win and so far it's not. I think someone years again did the whole SW vs LOTR but I don't recall who had the most votes.

For me LOTR is more personal and would win...the fact that it was made right also adds to that

I'm sure Star Wars would beat Lord of the Rings, even though LotR is easily the superior trilogy...but I thought the Batman films would destroy LotR in a poll as well, so who knows.

LOTR is something that will stand the test of time.

Star Wars OT is better though I think.

This.

Although I voted Nolan's Batman Trilogy. I loved Batman as a kid and knew the character all my life. LotR was new to me in the cinema and I haven't pursued that world since. They're GREAT movies and I'm pumped for "The Hobbit," but I don't find myself watching them nearly as often as any Batman movie.

How would it have been different other than a small Joker cameo in the prison scene?

Batman's greatest nemesis reduced to the redundancy of a z-lister like Calendar Man with zero mention in the third film despite being the main catalyst for Harvey becoming 2-Face, the Dent Act, Batman's becoming an outlaw and his 8-year retirement, etc... :monkey1

LotR, its timeless. I love the bat movies that Nolan did though, but this wasn't much of a toss up. :monkey3

Lord of the Rings all the way. Much better, there is no question about it. Lord of the rings movies are pretty majestic really, Nolan's bat is not.

Without a doubt Nolan's Batman Trilogy. Too much slow-mo in LotR. :lecture
