No. There is no mention of multiple Bruce Waynes or Batmen or Jokers, etc. In Gotham. Just one. Whereas James Bond is a secret agent, there is public knowledge of him (most of the time).

Although, Batman Beyond obviously establishes that there may be future Batmans after Bruce Wayne.

I have heard people bring up that if they explained that if "James Bond" is just a codename then it would explain the changing of the actors(other than the fact that it is a 50 year old franchise from the first book) and that would be an interesting thought.
However, in all the Bond books I have read or movies I have watched, I have never seen any clue or a hint that "James Bond" is more than one person except for the 1967 spoof Casino Royale were there were 7 Bonds.
Does anyone know were this hypothesis came from, I mean I love the Phantom and the whole passing the mantle to a new hero, but from all the evidence I have seen James Bond is always supposed to be the same guy who was in the British Navy in World War II. The only codename is the OO7 which could belong to a different agent if Bond ever dies. The Bond name is unique to one person from what I have read.

I don't think these two films can really be compared. They're both great films, can't really say which one is better. BB can be considered as the start of a totally new series, one that has absolutely no connection to the previous Batman films. CR, however, was still a direct continuation of the James Bond series and kept it's traditional elements intact, albeit in a different, more realistic, package.

Furthermore, I don't think James Bond should ever become a codename. It's an idea that Lee Tamahori (director of the 'wonderful' DAD) brought to life. Imo it would absolutely destroy the very foundations of the series. I mean, how likely would it be that MI6 would train an agent every now and then and turn him in to the same womanizing, wodka-martini drinking, Aston Martin driving person. Not to mention the fact that it would destroy the very history that shaped him to become the James Bond we know (death of Vesper, death of Tracy).

Btw, BB can be somewhat considered as Nolan's take on Bond. Nolan is known to be a Bond fan, and it's said that his take on Bruce Wayne was inspired by the series.

Batman Begins, IMO.

It was the one that most needed the reboot after the drek that Joel Schumacher tried to pass off as Batman movies.
Say what you will the pre-Craig Bond movies may have been campy, but were not terrible movies.

Pierce Brosnan will not normally go down in cinema history as the worst incarnation of the character...not like Kilmer or Clooney.

I gotta go with Batman Begins, when I was younger I loved the other films so much but as I grew older I realized how bad Batman & Robin was and it really put a sour taste in my mouth for Batman.

Batman Begins is truely a breath of fresh air and once again I can love Batman.
