To me it's FoTR, here's why I love the film
- Shire- Perfectly Captured by the music, set, and atmosphere. Felt like the shire and I want to live there. Showed the hobbit lifestyle and what it was like to be one, didn't think they could meet my expectations
- Gandalf the Grey- How awesome would it have been to sit out on a porch and have a brew and light one up with GTG...pure awesomeness
- Boromir- a MUCH expanded character in the movie, which I love, and his death scene, after redeeming himself, with the slow motion, circling camera and the music, bring a tear to my eyeball...it's funny, Peter Jackson made Boromir a three-dimensional character when tolkien made him kind of wooden
- FREAKING BALROG !!!! How awesome was it to have been in Moria
- Gandalf's "Death"- after he fell, the slow motion again with the score and just beautifully acted and shot, also brings a tear to my eyeball
But then again, the 1st of a series is usually the best anyway.

I just finished watching the extended FotR again tonight. I concur in that it's still a tear jerker and can evoke emotion despite the number of times I've seen it. Although I sincerely do love all three films, Fellowship set the bar high and I always felt it was a tough opening act to follow.
amongst people who spend a regular amount of time in this thread that classes you as not even a fan..
Besides I went to see the dark knight 5 or 6 times.
