Love all three, but ROTK is by far my favorite and the one I watch more often. It was my favorite of the books as well.

I voted them as one complete film but if I was forced to choose just one, I think I would go with The Fellowship of the Ring. If not mistaken, of the three films, it's also the one that adheres closest to Tolkien's work. Plus as mentioned before by Fool of a Took, it's the one that provides our first look into Middle Earth and it's denizens. That was just breath-taking, to say the least.

i love all three and i really see it as one story but if i absolutely had to choose i'd probably choose the fellowship but it would be an extremely hard choice to make.

Considering the Poll, I thought more people would of said that they saw the films as just "One" film.
But then again its always interesting too see how these polls turn out

To me it's FoTR, here's why I love the film

  • Shire- Perfectly Captured by the music, set, and atmosphere. Felt like the shire and I want to live there. Showed the hobbit lifestyle and what it was like to be one, didn't think they could meet my expectations
  • Gandalf the Grey- How awesome would it have been to sit out on a porch and have a brew and light one up with GTG...pure awesomeness
  • Boromir- a MUCH expanded character in the movie, which I love, and his death scene, after redeeming himself, with the slow motion, circling camera and the music, bring a tear to my eyeball...it's funny, Peter Jackson made Boromir a three-dimensional character when tolkien made him kind of wooden
  • FREAKING BALROG !!!! How awesome was it to have been in Moria
  • Gandalf's "Death"- after he fell, the slow motion again with the score and just beautifully acted and shot, also brings a tear to my eyeball

But then again, the 1st of a series is usually the best anyway.

Funnily those are some of the reasons i love FotR
But I would have too add in the Uruk-Hai they are so awesome :D

Have to go with the Fellowship. Just seeing it all take place. Seeing all the characters in a time of peace, then the journey begins.....

I have nothing to add to that.

I just finished watching the extended FotR again tonight. I concur in that it's still a tear jerker and can evoke emotion despite the number of times I've seen it. Although I sincerely do love all three films, Fellowship set the bar high and I always felt it was a tough opening act to follow.

Its quite funny in hindsight to see that Jackson & NewLine were really nervous about the first one being too uneventful and actionless. And it turns out the best of the 3 (IMO)...

amongst people who spend a regular amount of time in this thread that classes you as not even a fan.. :lol
Besides I went to see the dark knight 5 or 6 times. :naughty:monkey3
