i've read every predator comic there is and none of them made me want a $160 figure.
the kenner figures are good enough for that stuff.

Well I'm sure Hot Toys will do a massive upgrade or redesign of the character. I bet it will look cool if they did.

dont think they are going to make comic preds since preds are in Movie Masterpiece series

Personally, I hope they DO remake the AVP preds. I would buy everyone of them again. Also, remaking them won't devalue the originals as people think. If anything. a reissue would refocus collectors on the originals and the prices would go up. So bring 'em on Hot Toys!

To be fair, that is not from a comic, that's from the AVP: Hunter's Planet novel.

---And I fully think updated AVP Predators that look MILES better than the first batch would greatly decrease the value of the original. I don't see the newer collectors (which a lot I have noticed are not adults with jobs) wanting to spend top dollar for the old hard to find Preds, versus the newer, better looking, easier to find, cheaper AVP Preds.

Will the rarity still be there for the first round of 'em? Absolutely. Will anyone really care aside from completists? Probably not.

Perhaps, but there are not as many unopened AVP preds as you may think. There weren't that many to begin with... plus with breakage, repaints, modifications and kitbashing there are even fewer and becoming more scarce. Even opened they still demand top dollar and always will IMO...even with a reissue. And like I said with a reissue many collectors will want the originals.

No, they shouldn't.

These aren't toys, they are collectibles. What's the point of collecting if they aren't rare? Just like stamps, they worth more when they are scarce. That's what makes collecting them fun and exciting.

I don't disagree with you, but you've left out the fact that Hot Toys is a business. If they think they can make money by remaking the AVP Preds, I guarantee they will.

I'm all for HT making new Predators.
I'm not for them remaking the ones that are already out.
The AVP Predators are fine the way they are.
:chew

But they all have the same head! They could definitely do a Celtic and Chopper with a all-new, unique face sculpts, as well as more detailed bodies/equipment, better dreadlocks, etc.

Just my two cents, but I think Hot Toys sees more money doing this, rather than comic Predators. There's probably a lot of people who wouldn't be interested in non-movie Preds...

And same armor (mostly) and weapons, etc...which was why I only bought Chopper and the Ancient pred from the AVP series.

I'd love to see HT run with that suggestion though and completely revamp the AVP Preds with their updated techniques :D

hot toys should/will re-release the AVP predators with update sculps etc.,

they will make lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

there are no reason not to rerelease the avp predators again

What's wrong with the old sculpts? A reason to not re-release anything is to keep the figs "collectable".

I really don't see HT remqaking anything, but i do see them getting around things, like for instance the ancient asia pred was seen in AVP:R they could make him without the alien head on a spear and change up a couple of things and have a whole new pred. People who missed out on him get another chance and the people who have him will still have the more rare one with a alien head on a spear. Personally i don't see HT just stop making preds, if we see a BD Scar and Celtic i wouldn't be surprised.

You know, there's "collectible", and there's ridiculous. The prices for the original AVP Preds are insane and I'd have no problem if prices went down because of new releases. Because they're the originals, they'd remain collectible even if newly sculpted ones were released. They may not be AS collectible, but frankly, when theses things are going for $800+ on Ebay I couldn't really care. That's cool that some of you guys got in on the ground floor and now have very expensive figures, but if they go down to the $300-400 range that's collectible enough as far as I'm concerned.
