Nice list.. I love Robocop but there is something about it that makes me never want to watch it... When I do I always say "Great film.. Why don't I want to ever watch it"

No issues with Prometheus... I loved the overall look and feel of the film.

Luckily I did not see Avatar on there before you took it off... Would have got the pitchforks out on you!!




I was going to put Clockwork Orange on my list but was not sure if people would consider it Sci Fi..

I have a thread of my top Hundred on this board somewhere... I wonder how much it has changed.. I love the list... My only issue is The Man Who Fell to Earth... I hated it when I saw it but that was a loooooong time ago.. Perhaps I should give it another shot.

I think the problem is, people today can't enjoy things unless they're depressing or dark.

No fun allowed.

I think people (myself included) enjoyed the hell out of Avengers, and it was a fun movie...

Man, nothing beats that waitress's reaction at the start of T2.

****, nothing beats that bar opening period in this genre.

It's the equivalent of Superman 1 Krypton opening in awesomness.

Last week, I took my two younger cousins to see MAN OF STEEL. The boys are 15 and 12, and are hooked on video games; whether they be on the 360 or PS3 at home, or glued to the DS on the road. They thought MOS was "good" and "alright", but not as good as THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY.

That evening, I showed them the Richard Donner original. Their eyes were glued to the screen and halfway through, the younger boy said "this is way better than the new one." By the end, they both said they liked it alot better than MOS.

I then showed them the theatrical cut of SUPERMAN II, along with additional scenes from the Richard Donner Cut, but they ranked the sequel behind both SUPERMAN and MOS (even then, they preferred Stamp's Zod over Shannon's.)

I have a feeling all these MOS fans saying it's "THE BEST SUPERMAN MOVIE EVER MAAADE!!!!!" either have a "it's new and shiny/dark and realistic so it's obviously better" mentality, or just haven't sat down in a while and watched the 1978 film under the right circumstances. It's easy to put down a film you haven't seen in years if all you remember is 70's fashion and "the stoopid ending where Superman flies around the earth to turn back time."

Only if you don't like Terminator 2. If you like T2 then eliminate either STM or MoS. You have to, it's in the Geneva Convention.

Ok,

so for me to like MOS I need to hate T2 but if I choose to like T2 I then need to hate MOS and T1 but like TDKR while simultaneously hating T3 and Avengers.

Oh, that's not so bad.

Also remember that if you like the SW OT then you must hate the prequels unless you like the PT, hate the SE's and own the Harmy OT. Then its all good.

Have to say that surprises me. I would have thought kids would prefer MOS just because of modern special effects and super fights alone. Perhaps even kids are fatigued on cataclysmic city destructions and Zimmer scoring everything.
