Who is the most overrated character in all of Star Wars?

Darth Maul. The whole point of that character is to look cool, that's it. The same can be said for Boba Fett, but there was so much more potential for Maul to be a great villain and to end up as just a visual gimmick makes him more overrated imo.

Hard to say, Boba is pretty over rated from a certain point of view, he was really more of a filler character to advance the plot. I can see why Maul could be considered overrated, because he is cool looking and an awesome fighter, but the series wouldn't miss much without him, except TPM may not be as good as it is. I think you can put Count Dooku on the list too, he's my favorite Sith, but he really didn't do anything in the movies.

Personally I think Lando is overrated, I've never really cared for him or understood why he is so popular. Please don't hurt me.

Some feel Maul is overrated but IMO he is one of the characters that makes the PT so special for me.

Maul is the ONLY character that makes TPM worth watching (and even thats a stretch.) I say the most overrated is Chewie. He never really does anything and is always getting yelled at by Han for messing something up.

I dunno, I've always thought Qui-Gon was pretty awesome. And I think the podrace is pretty cool too. I like how it pays homage to the chariot race in Ben-Hur.

Boba Fett has always been my favorite SW character since I was a child but I hate to admit that yes he is the most overrated character in Star Wars.

The only thing he does that's of any importance in the movies is follow The Falcon to Bespin. Lets face it, Fett didn't even capture Han. The Empire and Vader did that not Fett. Fett just gets Solo handed over to him after Vader is done with him. He's basicly just a delivery boy for Jabba.

In Jedi, he does nothing but gets his but kicked.

Nevertheless, I still love the character and yes he's still my favorite.

Qui-Gon makes it worth watching. Maul was and is just eye candy and a very close second to Boba Fett on the list here.

I always kind of thought Jabba was over-rated. I mean, he's a giant slug for pity's sake.

But no doubt, the Sideshow display is AMAZING. So my point is kind of null and void LOL.

I have to agree with the people who have voted for Fett. He may be cool to look at, but the one and only time he was given a chance to actually use any of his impressive array of personal weaponry, he gets taken down without even putting up any real fight (aside from his pitiful attempt to hogtie Luke). Not an impressive showing, at all.

I tried to watch TPM this evening and only watched about 20 minutes between skipping scenes to get to Maul. I really liked Sith and I thought Clones was pretty good but TPM is total trash. If that had been the real first movie the entire franchise would have ended right there. I agree with Kit that Maul & Fett may be overrated but Maul is the only thing good in Menace and Fett's voice and costume make up for it.

Edit: Fett's ORIGINAL voice.. not the crap SE one.

I totally agree except for the part about Fett's voice... OT was cool but SE with Temeura Morrison's is just terrible.
