Except ANH Vader who tortured Princess Leia, watched Alderaan being destroyed without a care, personally killed Captain Antilles, Obi Wan Kenobi and a number of rebel starfighter pilots. :D

That's cute. Thanos killed his own daughter, torture the other one for fun, and wiped half of all living creatures in the universe single handedly and won.

Thanos was also a cartoon.

And he's not even up here as a choice 'cause no one really cares that much about Thanos. Everyone likes Joker and Vader WAY more. WAY. Squared.

But that's scary in a different way. He was scary because you didn't know what he was going to do. The scissor bit was scary because of what he did do.
We knew what he did, because we saw the hostage video after the guy was hanging by the neck from a building with his face painted and a knife on his heart.

had the Italian cut into pieces and fed to his own dogs. :lol

That's was disturbing, forgot about that.

But I'm not arguing that I find Arthur scarier than Ledger. I like my theatrical villains. But I would never, ever meet a Ledger Joker in real life. Its pure fantasy. everything about him is pure Hollywood. But Arthur... he feels very real right now. That's what's scary. I could meet a psycho like him on the subway when I'm tormenting women. And he could shoot me.

The only thing that could have made that scene even more disturbing, would have been hearing Lao screaming while he was burning with the money as Joker was talking to the Italian. My guess, the PG 13 rating got in the way.

As far as Arthur, he exists in real life. Just today, I was talking to a lady that's fed up with her rent going up, losing her food stamps, and feeling like the government is squashing her and taking everything she worked for because she can't even afford doctors. She's on the edge. She's Arthur, and like her, there are some that just lose it and bad things happen.

Exactly. There's a gleeful enjoyment of villainy that Ledger serves in the best way a villain can. But its for movies.

Arthur is scary because he's real. There's people like that everywhere. I saw on the news last night some guy at a train stop just shoving people into the train, showing with all his might. another guy rides his bike along with a knife and just randomly swipes at people and peddles away. The call him The Peddler.

But its getting scary out there. Seriously. A revolution is brewing. We'll see it in our life times. I'm kind of looking forward to it.

It's happening globally. I'll watch the world burn from the comfort of my home, until they break in and kill me of course.

The Peddler? :lol He did it, he became a real life Batman villain. He might as well start wearing a costume.

Definitely the cruelest of all the Vaders.

Just choking Antilles live, tossing him aside and then yelling at his men is proof enough. He never yells.

Agreed. He's great in ANH as well but I prefer him calling the shots from beginning to end. Plus he has Fett as his right hand man.

Vader is bad ass in ANH for sure. But he was not in full charge yet

Vader is far more intimidating when he's not on Grand Moff Tarkin's leash.

He was killing his own men in ESB. Tortured Han Solo and Chewie.. Leia might have go a bit more off screen also..

His presence is far more intimidating also... Remember how Leia talked to Vader in ANH? Remember how she hid behind Chewie just by the site of him in ESB?

How about when he stared really swing the saber at Luke when he jumped out from being the wall / door... He was so massive next to little Luke. :lol

But it boils down to James Earl Jones' vocal performance in that film.. His voice is so intimidating throughout. It pitch perfect delivery every single time. So many quotable lines.. Perfect... Perfect.... PERFECT!!!!
