"Why doesn't Sideshow make figures for girls?"

The downside to marrying a collector is deciding who gets custody of the collectibles if you get divorced. I remember back at the height of the Beanie Baby frenzie a husband and wife actually being in a courtroom taking turns picking which one they got while the judge and lawyers looked on. :rotfl

When (if) I get married, prenup all the way baby!:lol

If and when I ever get hitched....a serious prenup will exist regarding my collections! ABSOLUTELY!
No chick's taking my stuff and selling it off! No way!
Nope! Uh uh!

God, I hope I find ONE WOMAN that appreciates me for who I am!

Alright collector lovin' ladies! Here I am! :D

LOL, yeah my girlfriend has no problems purchasing $80 shoes, while I stick with the $14.95 ones at Target. :lol

I don't get the shoes thing, probably because I can't wear anything beyond sneakers. $80? For one pair? That's insane! :lol
Heh, my cousin'll make fun of my PF's then buy a purse that costs more. At least I get to play with mine.

You boys obviously know all the "wrong" women! I am the collector in my family. :monkey1 My husband puts up with my collecting habit and I put up with him!! :D :inlove

I find it ironic that you boys want girls who appreciate you for who you are (a collector) and yet you are all making fun of the things that girls typically enjoy 'collecting', like shoes and purses (not that I get the shoes thing, either, but hey, to each her or his own!). :stick :dance Can you say 'double standard'? Maybe if you appreciate HER hobbies, she'll appreciate YOU! :date :lol :lol :lol

Oh, and as far as THIS "girl" is concerned, EVERYTHING Sideshow makes is for girls!

As a female, I fully support this statement! :-D

*hugs GTG statue carefully*

Definitely, says another girl collector! Although personally, I like both shoes and figures. Since my funds are limited, though, figures win every time. I can't imagine having a relationship with someone who didn't at least support my collecting, even if they didn't collect themselves. That must be very difficult at times. I'm single, but luckily my flatmate (a geek, but not a collector) just shakes his head and dutifully admires whatever I show him. :)

I am very lucky in the fact that my Fiance understands my collecting habit. She knows that it drains me financially at times, but she also takes comfort in the fact that it's not drugs or strippers taking my funds...

Also I do not question her buying habits with her clothes and shoes, etc... And she does the same. Her big thing is that as long as the bills are being paid and we don't get evicted, she's happy.

That being said, she cannot WAIT for me to have that Jaws maquette... she asks me every week if it's almost time... :lol

Shoes and SS figures are my favorite things.
Now I get to buy more shoes because the dog
ate two pairs.
Good thing I keep my Figures locked up or he
would eat those too!

The real question is what costs more the shoes of the figures? I know some of my friends shoes are more expensive then most of the figures.

So ... what would happen if you bought those Porn Star figures ;p

My figures cost more for sure 45.00 US and up plus 27 for shipping plus
duties.
I usually spend about 30 or less on a pair of shoes. Frugal when it comes
to shoes. Hate to spend a lot on the shoes.

the shoes I wore in my wedding last year costed about the same as the average PF figure.

My collecting and full fledged return to SW was inspired totally by ROTS, after my wife and I were already married.

It wasn't even an issue when we met. Collecting is a fun side hobby but not "who I am". My wife loves SW and thinks all of SS's figures look great but it can take a definite toll on our finances and other interests if we went too far.

I convinced her to pick up a few key ROTS figs for our future son (turns out our first child is going to be a GIRL :lol), which led to buying most of the ROTS 3 inch figures and their vehicles, which led to finding rebelscum, which led to finding out about SS, which led me here. :)

She's been incredibly supportive (every time I pose an incredibly geeky "Does Jabba really trump the PF's?" type question she typically responds with "whatever you want honey") but I know she really, really wants a Secret Ceremony Padme (pipe dream it may be) and Queen Amidala. Its awesome to see such enthusiasm for an aspect of "my" hobby, and I really hope SS comes through for us.
