Why would I? I buy it because I like it...not because someone else likes it. Do you buy to please others or for yourself? Everyone has their own opinion, and if they don't like something I bought. So be it. Doesn't mean I'm going to like it less.

I absolutel buy for myself and my own enjoyment, but that wasn't the initial thought for this thread. I personally don't care either but, I was pointing out why some feel the need to bash and berate another set of collectors ON a collectible forum just because they don't collect the same thing. It's not a matter of buying because you love something, if that were the case why buy it? but you are in a forum for collectors and someone just outright says for instance....I don't buy mini bust, whoever collects mini bust is a loser! others start agreeing, etc... it just doesn't (to me at least) create a friendly welcoming environment. tha's all i was saying.

And thats what I'm saying, "who cares". I'm not on here for opinions of what I buy anyway. Particularly from people I really don't know. Alot of the time people take what some nameless, faceless person states on here to heart. Why? That says more about you than them....imo. Now I don't mean you personally...but in general. :lol

Everyone on here isn't going to get along...that's a given. But, if you find some friends on here along the way....thats great.

and that makes it right? we should just 'tolerate' it?
People that respond or get upset to this sort of attack add fuel to the fire. I think you'll find that if you don't add to it...it tends to disappear.

All of the above does sound like a formula for success! :D

hey I am a firm believer of hallucinogens:D

I know it's hard for the moderators to see everything, but in certain instances some ppl should just not be allowed to post. if you can offer nothing constructive in what should be a haven for collectors then you shouldn't be here? i have seen the moderators erase post why not remove some of these negative post till these individuals get the point.

I am all for somebody looking at something and saying I really don't like the facial sculpt or I think the paint ruins the underlying sculpt, but do it in an objective and individual way. that I can respect.

I agree 100%. People shouldn't make it personal.

Now respect is something that I can certainly agree with you on, but the only problem is that some people have never heard of it before and it is similar to a foreign language.

maybe you're right, but I think now that we've talked about it, you'll start to notice these things on the forum. And I like to think that I have found friends in here, you I connect with, because you actually have a thought on this thread and alot of you brought up some valid points that require thought.

maybe it's my background, my father was a police officer, went to catholic school all my life, strict disciplinary household. So respect goes a long way regardless of which side of the fence you are on. you can disagree, but at the end of the day still be friends and respect the other's opinion.

Anti-elitists are just as bad as elitists, only not as funny and far less interesting.

What if I told you I was offended by your objectification of women in your avatar, and that it makes me uncomfortable to see it? What if I thought that it demonstrates a complete lack of respect for: a) women; and b) me, who is offended by pictures of scantily clad women? Would you remove it? I feel disrespected even having to ask.

Exactly, I appreciate that, and I think that from viewing the board first before joining in you do kinda get a feel for the ppl on here who respect the culture of collectors. I love your contribution to the discussion

Oh, I've seen it happen at times here. And, like alot of people have stated this happens in all walks of life. And so unless the person making the remark actually knows me.....it means nothing. If you let every derogatory comment someone makes get to you...you'd never be happy. :lol

In this instance having considered the context of this forum, I would probably laugh out loud. However if we were in a jehovah witnesses, or a muslim forum, I'd probably remove it out of respect. Or I'd say you were comfortable with people's head exploding in your avatar but you can't deal with some vampire cleavage?
