I think it would be killer if they used actual hair on their products, not the molded hair. Real looking hair gives it a very authentic look. Maybe they will go real hair in 5 years, but HT is new to producing quality stuff, so i guess it could happen. Or maybe it would be just too expencive and time consuming.
If it does, then It will be time to get rid of all the older hot toys figures?

Look here, KOJUN the sculptor did this and that

Screw the naysayers! I do believe real hair can look good on 1/6, which is proven in those pics... but there has to be extreme, single-handed, care put into it.

I'm not sure the time will ever come where this is possible mass-produced though.

I would assume that it's too cost-prohibitive and difficult to pull off in mass production.

They're beginning to do it on female figures, though their commitment to rooted hair in that regard is sporadic. Black Widow and Sarah Connor get rooted hair but Abigail Whistler and Jill Valentine do not?

Well, Jill has short hair. Don't know what went on with Abagail, but it's probably for the best because BW's hair did not live up to the protos.

I'm all for real hair IF they look like those pictures you posted, otherwise it'll end up looking like Einstein's hair cut.

wow is that a david beckham 1/6?? or is it a wax figure or sth??

In RE5, she keeps her hair bundled under that hat, so you're correct, but she still has a pony tail.

That is a 1/6 figure by Rovo Jin, who does work for Enterbay now.

Okay that's not the direction I wanted to take this thread.

The female Hot Toys figures look good in the official photos but generally the quality of the hair is diminished on the final product. You could use hair styling products to fix it though (something HT recommends, apparently).

im a big soccer fan and that beckham 1/6 looks amazing! too bad its not wearing soccer gear but designer clothes lol

I don't feel comfortable putting mousse in my figures' hair. Plastic hair is better in my opinion.

Insecurities aside, correctly done real hair looks far better. I would have no problem with it if they end up pulling it off in the near future.
