Hot Toys. Medi Jack can be had on eBay for cheap, I got one last Christmas for $80 shipped from AJ Collecting who was selling MR Returns.

well i like both HT and Medi but i'd say the best would be Sovereign Studios but looks like Shawn's site is down again. wonder if it's got to do w/ the neg feedback he'd been getting lately.
anyway, his Jack was sweet. tailored cothes, he'd finally gotten the coat down pat, "real" hair, had started using pliable material for the boots. they usually went for about the HT price.

edit: nevermind. after reading up more on this, it seems he's really developing a bad rep. i wouldn't recommend dealing w/ him til he's addressed it. shame. best Jack out there.

I'd go with Hot Toys.

I think the Medicom one is terrible to be honest. Well, for the price range. At that price I'd expect one helluva figure that's pretty spot on. Hots isn't perfect either, but its better than that IMO. Meds isn't hat much different from Zizzles at first glance.

I'm happy with my Zizzle and the Disney Store exclusive one, but I do like the Hot Toys version.

Just buy the cheapest one and save the rest intop bonds or into a savings account. Who needs stinkin' quality when you have lots and lots of money adding up..just adding up...not being able to look at it or touch it. Then boom the economy goes to crap and the dollar eeees worthless and you're asking yourself, why didn't I splurge and get the Hot Toys Jack Sparrow? Why did I listen to Eli? Damn you Eli!!!! I would rather have the HT's one, this one does nothing for me, doesn't even look like Depp.

To each his own. Personally I don't like the way Depp looks, he does absolutely nothing for me. This one isn't trying to look like Depp per se, and is called 'The Pirate' to avoid any likeness issues people might see in it. Shawn is wanting to include the undead caged monkey in future customs he makes.

I have no skill, so for me, I am after a quality figure with rooted hair,cloth, leather etc etc, and a heap of great accessories.

I have never cared for rooted hair, it can look worse than sculpted in most cases that don't involve female figures.

I apologise for my smart alec remark before rw23. I really like this figure to have rooted hair because it does happen to look good and I would think it helps with the neck articulation somewhat, just as an added bonus.

Come to think of it, I don't think I have heard anyone complain about the head articulation on the Medicom figure. Does anyone have anything to say about that to enlighten me?

Depends on the type of collector you are. Does height difference make you cry? If so, get the HT one. I like Medis more, just me though, I think , though the paint isn't as human, the likeness is still better. BUT HT one comes with more stuff it seems, and will get other characters from the movies I'm sure. Not sure if Medi will make more. BUT I don't need more than Jack, so again Medi's fine for ME.

I say, if you love Captain Jack Sparrow enough, and can afford to do so, get the Medi and HT figure, swap the clothes and accessories from the HT figure, which are the better, on to the Medi body, which has the better headsculpt, and you'll have yourself an ultimate Jack.
