I will chime in and say that in the business that I work for, everytime we offer something with a ES it has always sold better than product without. We have tried it both ways, and we sell product that has no ES, but it also has broader appeal. The specialty items that are higher cost tend to "need" that ES for complete sell through. Also, in terms of production...there is just as much overhead in build-to-order as there is in building to a production run, as long as the run is smaller. Switchover costs and mold maintenace is costly in terms of overhead, material and labor costs are lower in terms of overhead...especially in China. I'm not even getting into freight costs and customs compliance costs...once again confirming the advantage to build in runs, especially with production being located overseas. If you have other product management/production questions let me know.

I give my opinion on here, like everyone else, just so whiny asses like you complain about it, because you obviously have nothing better to do.

Hope that helps answer your question for you :wave

answered nothing, i just pointed out your statement is a total oxymoron.

but feel free to continue with the insults.

I believe you 100%.

I believe Sideshow would sell more of these if they put an ES. I think they under estimated a # of people who could afford and would buy these LSF lines if they close the ES. I would definitely buy one of these if they put an ES and sounds like some other collectors would too. The limited ES is one of the biggest reasons people bought sideshow product. There is no way Optimus Prime Maquette EX was sold out that fast if Sideshow made it an open ES, and by all means $1200 is not cheap for its size and many people complaining it's overpriced but yet it was gone less than an hour?

The fact this is an open ES there is no motivation to drive most collectors (not all) to buy this now. The Limited ES of a great sculpt that makes most people buy sideshow products, if you take away the ES from a great sculpt the end result won't be the same and I am surprised Sideshow did not get this. Yes the ES matters for most collectors, history of sales proves it. Yes, some people don't care about the ES, but the fact is the majority of collectors care and there should be no argument there.

I said this about a month ago & people didn't bother to listen :dunno

agree with everything, just 1 correction the optimus ex was not sold out in an hour :) nor days, it took weeks or months, dont remember the exact duration.

Wonder how many will order this. It is set to ship in September, would definitely like to see in hand pics but i'm sure they are only manufactuing around 10-20 of these. This would have been a great buy if the scale was between 1/3 and 1/2. This looks like a solid 1/4 scale regardless of what Sideshow said on Facebook.

Optimus ex sold out in 20 mins.
So who else is getting this $2000 1/4 statue??
