I'm not comparing it to a regular pf at all. That's why I said $1000 is a much fairer price. It's def worth that.
My bad.

I am wondering if the whip has wire in it so it's poseable or not?
Look guys.. This piece, and any piece out of this line, is obviously out of most of our leagues. I wouldn't fuss too much about it though, it's not like its going to be the only Wolf piece to come out in the months and years to come.
Really, stop kicking yourself as if you've just lost the only chance at the character. They're is sure to be a Legnedary Bust, a smaller maquette and who knows what other formats. But the legendary format is for a different kind of collector, one with a legendary bank account!
maybe SS new strategy is to sell fewer pieces but with higher margins.
that way QC can improve while maintaining profits. =D

I don't think anything's gonna justify the price tag besides the scale. But it would be nice if they included that light-up feature as well. No offense to your views but I primarily collect for myself and not to impress friends with them. So it doesn't matter if I can't leave that light-up feature to 'on' all the time. And yeah, I would love those features that you've mentioned as well. Would make for some awesome alternate displays! For things like this, I think the light up features are kinda stupid. They justify a steeper price by adding them, and it's not something you can leave displayed at all times. So when friends are over you can go "check this out" and click it on, then they go "ewwww, wooowwww" and then you "ok, I have to turn it off now". I'd much rather have the whip be poseable, and have the spear be able to extend/retract. That adds much more depth to the possible displays for it.
So I'd rather they take the time and cost invested to add a light up feature, and put that towards another display feature like moveable/removeable shoulder cannons.
That's the same thing lingering in my mind since a long time. This will also help boost the manufacturer-customer interactivity which lately seems to be declining. They won't have anything to lose either due to the model being virtual. I think we oughta take this up with them. Here's a decent idea. For future big/costly pieces, do a 3D graphic reveal and have a poll of different ideas that people would want to see on it. We're the ones spending our money on it, so why not ask what features we'd like to see on it?
Not sure what you mean exactly. They are the same height according to SS. But Wolverine is 1:2 and despite what SS says I think Wolf is 1:4...But it doesn't matter. The size difference between 1:2 and 1:3 is 25%. This 25% size difference is the same for 1:3 and 1:4, 1:4 and 1:5, 1:5 and 1:6 etc.
If you notice, the whip adds a good amount of inches over the predator head. Im pretty sure they are adding that to the total height of 31" wolverine is bigger.
Unfortunately, they forgot what makes people pay that much is it's limited availability. By making this open edition without a number on the base, it opens up the opportunity for more fakes to be made and the price not going up for the years it's available for RRP from the Sideshow website. Plus customers won't be in any hurry to get this since it is available for a long time and the line won't progress.
If you are a greedy company and want a part of the secondary market pie, then make it limited and keep a few statues for yourself to sell.
The Ironman 1:2 could be purchased for a much lower price now to collectors can just wait for prices to plummet since it won't go out of stock. They should sell these Legendary Priced Figures at Walmart and call him the Walmart Wolf.
1:2 Wolverine is 31" tall (actual height: 5 foot 2 inches)
"1:3" scale Predator is 31" tall (actual height: 7 foot 6 inches)
i'm no mathematician...but
