I sold a 3k piece once to a whiner lowballer on the threads (not here) AND he returned it... and he wanted me to pay half for return shipping... he complained about one tiny pin point spot on the paint. UG!
Luckily I got it back in one piece.
Then sold it for 4k on ebay...
Retail was $500 on this one back in the day but it has been selling for 3k.
If you ask me I think ebay worked for me
That was not the most expensive item I have sold and I found the buyers paying that much are usually Asians going through a third party ebay shipping co because I usually only ship in the US when it's that fragile and that expensive.

Actually ebay is seller beware and I think I've gotten luckly with only having minimal reports of breakage on lower end stuff. Glad most the stuff I sell now is not fragile as glass.
As a buyer the only thing I usually fear is the cost of return shipping (and the inflated ebay price). Other than that I'm pretty covered no matter where I buy from. Credit cards and paypal.

PS I asked the ebay wolf seller the reserve and he told me what is was but I would never bid on an auction that is a private listing like that one.

curious what statue is that, I can't think of any $500 piece that went to 3-4k, even dr doom ex is only around 2.5k max

I do not have any clue what sideshow will choose to bring back but I very much doubt this will be one of them. The Endo-bust is a much easier piece to remake and fire the molds back up for...a very complex statue as this with all the problems they had releasing it? Doubt it very much but who knows.
