Wolverine Legendary scale figure??!!!

^^^ That's a great story but you have collector's like an Averone and a few others with sneak disses. That's singing this company praises for taking his $2000 while only offer one of these incredible portraits. I know for one thing, I'm done throwing good money after bad product at this company, or just product that doesn't even come close to justifying the price tag that's attached to that particular piece.

Hope for extra heads, sideshows got almost a year (with no delays) to budge on it. Either way people will still buy these things.

Correct, but they will not sale nothing close to what they would've if offered those three portraits.

I'll throw my two cents in on why they did not go with the optional heads - it would have been too expensive for them to hit the price mark. How many people will buy this? It's a $2000 statue targetting comic fans of Wolverine so it's a niche piece. Now look at the photos of the size of this thing - it's 31" high or so, if we take the apple up to the head - you can see how large that noggin' is, so an extra head (or two) would be a signifigant piece all on it's own. Though I agree they should have done just that - they would have then charged more than 2K.

For 2K, size shouldn't be the only factor. Also, there should be an ES if they charge a NRD. They have knocked a lot of folks off the fence. For 2K, this should be a very special exclusive piece with all the bells and whistles (and extra portrait) and not just an oversized PF statue.

I can fully understand Martin Canale showing off those incredible extra heads and his apparent disappointment and dismay at them not being used, if i spent as much time an effort in sculpting such wonderful head sculpts only for them to never see the light of day then i would want to know why as well.

The only thing to do would be for everyone who has already ordered this piece to cancel their order and basically demand that they include at least one of those extra heads, but i know such a boycott will never happen.

Protest with your wallet people, if enough people cancel and state the reason why they have cancelled then we could twist Sideshows arm to get these included.

What's to keep old Martin from selling the heads himself? I mean, he might as well. If people do start cancelling orders because he posted alternate heads on the forums, he may be looking for another job anyways.

They should definitely add AT LEAST the unmasked head. This is only 31" in height and No light up features. It's not up to par with the other 1/2 scale statue where you get more for the $2000 price tag. So driving up the costs is BS when is should already be included in the price anyway. FAIL!

The irony is I would give this decision a second chance IF there was an ES and an alternate portrait. I just don't see enough in this as it is to justify 2k.

Sideshow originally commissioned the sculptor to make 3 heads with the intention of offering at least one of them as a switch out extra, they planned on selling these LSF Wolverines at $2000 with an extra head included, but then someone at SS realized that they could charge the same price but only offer one masked head and people would still buy it, saving SS a great deal in production costs and making them a tidy profit in the process.

I have reconsidered and will not be buying this, unless they add at least the unmasked head.Sideshow's call. If they don't add the extra head the statue is not WORTH it and I will not regret it. However if they add the heads and I don't get it, well that's a different story.

It is because of him and guys like him in the Gore Group that we have such amazing sculpts from Sideshow!

If he wants to work, there will always be work for him. There is no doubt in my mind, he is one of the greatest talented sculptors in our time.

Sorry Iron, to be honest you dont buy since you are way more selective than I am. I understand what you mean, yet at the same time I feel like I am supporting a company that can give us more great LSF's in the future.
Lets say if no one buys these, what do you think will happen?
I tell you what....
They will stop production on more great figures like future IM or Dr. Doom or Cap or Batman!

Then those of us who want these have to go elsewhere (Customs) and buy lesser quality products and support something that we shouldn't support from the first place!

You know what? They want my money? Ill gladly support a legit company (SS) with such great artist as Martin! I rather pay a little more to SS and have Martin get a share than some of the guys overseas! Im just done with that!
I think one less head or ES will not deter me from this purpose, and there is plenty to still enjoy!

Personally I don't get the 2000.00 price point. I mean it's twice as big as a PF so shouldnt it only be twice as expensive?? Hell even if it was 3x more it would be would still be only 1000.00. Seems like everything would be easier for the artist at a bigger scale. Detail and such.

As far as Greed goes. Well I don't think SS owes anyone a head. It's not like they said there was going to be one and then decided against it and still charge the same price. Nobody is forcing any of us to buy this stuff. If you feel it's not worth it then don't buy it.

I mean if they were selling something we HAD to have like Food and were over pricing everything then I would call that greedy. But for something like this that is up to the buyer and nobody else.

All this talk and no one even knows the logistics of packaging and transportation. Look at all the trials and tribulations our ARH Studios had to go through and still at the end we did not get it %100 correct! I am only using this as an example form personal knowledge.
We made the Medusa box huge, and guess what.... we had issues with customs and higher shipping costs.

Just to add two heads will increase the price of shipping substantially!! There may be nothing SS can do about it! Even if they were to please you guys by giving them to you.
Im afraid if they did this now, it would increase the price too much. They are tying to stay within a set price range.

Its not the correct size. Its not twice but much more. People forget that its proportions increase by 8x-12x when you increase the size. All the resin to be used is much more than you use for 2 1/4 PFs!
For example we (ARH Studios) estimated we would use the amount of 10 Bowen 1/6 statues to make a one Medusa statue!

Same kind of thing happened with the Medusa statue of ours. People could not justify the $600.00 price point! They kept on saying thats way too much!

Until they saw it in person and saw our unpacking video!
Then they realized holy cow this thing is huge!!!

Same with the statue! It may not be the biggest 1:2 but it has good weight to it and is action pose. I have several custom ones and they dont look half this good and they are constructed way less quality! Trust me this is class and quality for the size and I have to say almost justifies the price.
(Almost since its a matter of taste, and importance to the collector)

my consipiracy theory is that they noticed how much money is being made on ebay reselling the premium format at three times the original price on some pieces if not more.

if the fans pay 1k for a permium format on ebay then make the figure twice the size and charge 2 grand lets see wahappens

im still curious if they will sell the heads separately

I hardly doubt SSC's "breaks even." Their outsourcing to China is proof they turn a tidy profit. Also, they never combine any discounts; it's one or the other. Plus they restrict what you can use certain discounts on. Their business is completely controlled by them. I'm just saying when they jump to this price point, how about make it SUPER special. But I get the feeling that these are not going to be big sellers and this 1:2 will die out, unfortunately. SSC's needs to have competitive marketing instead of always acting like they are the only high end collectible statue company.
