That's not fair tho, seein' YT review of a figure is the same as watchin' a movie with some background commentary.

A toy review It is not EXACTLY, LITERALLY the same as a movie review,
But my point is, we as humans seek the opinions and information of other people in order to make a better more informed choice.
It is nothing new. Before rotten tomatoes we used to ask our friends about movies and we used to watch tv shows dedicated to movie reviews.
The only thing that changed was the format. We all are the same

Don't know what yelp is.
I read the paper for the news...not advice.
Finally I would look at in hand videos of hot toys before spending a few hundred quid...but that's very different imo.

Do you ever check if a restaurant is good? Or what rating it has? Or a bar?
Do you ever just eat blindly at whatever place is near?

Just came back from seeing WW. I gotta say, even though I loved SS when it came out, this movie is easily a hundred times better. I absolutely ****ing love this movie. Gal Gadot is the perfect Wonder Woman and Chris Pine's Steve Trevor was awesome as well. A solid 9/10 after first viewing.

The theater audience on the other hand... I have never witnessed these so-called "feminazis" in real life, until today. Disgusting people, and I don't go around saying people are disgusting, but a couple of these women were like really ****ing disgusting by the way they acted. Some of them gave me bad looks and **** for no reason. One of them even farted really loudly in a silent part of the movie :lol I've never heard anyone fart in a movie theatre, and it's not really that big of deal, but that mother****er stank.

I doubt anyone will be disappointed with this movie it is epic. A couple of small flaws is all it has it's that good. Easily a 4 out 5 if not 4.5 out of 5.

Do you ever use yelp? Have you ever read the paper for advice?
Have you ever looked up youtube reviews for toys or figures?
I hope the answer to all of those questions is no....
Equating searching reviews of a small local restaurant by most likely people you know, and believing a random meaningless number for a 4,000 millions of pesos blockbuster that has notorious buzz, big wig interests in play, and fabricated hype all around it and that's been tampered with to steer perception, is a false parallel.

Especially when we know the nature of pop-culture journalism.

I give you reviews for smaller movies, those are more reliable in a case by case basis, but taking RT score seriously, or worse; using it in a discussion, is shortsighted and naive.

Reviews are only good for memes.

Same as previous post.

And holy ****, make your own decision m8 :lol

Unless Gaspar has more words of wisdom regarding RT ratings, I'm outta here. Those last few replies are the stuff of nightmares. :lol
