I liked it. I mean, it's not really good overall... but the fable and humor are great.
It's silly, OTT and awkward... but mostly in a good way. Mostly.

Chris Pine is awesome and his Steve Trevor's a very solid character.

And I love Ares. He's played by one of my favorite actors.
It was a good introduction to Gods before movin' on to JL.

Oh, and this is NOT Ares' design from the movie. :lol

Does this appear in the movie at all?

Rotten tomatoes destroyed baywatch and it ruined pirates of the Caribbean

As of four weeks ago, Pirates was reportedly expected to rake in $90-$100 million over the four-day holiday, and Baywatch was projected to gross $50 million over five days. Those estimates were slashed after the Rotten Tomatoes scores posted. (In the end, Pirates made $77 million and Baywatch grossed $23 million in the US and Canada.) But Dwayne Johnson, who stars in Baywatch, publicly called out critics and then schooled them on movie economics.

And bad marketing plus word of mouth plays no role at all, I guess? Or the fact that the RT score is a representation of the overall impression that viewers might actually have of a film? This reminds me of all these recent Hillary appearances where she blames every person on earth but herself for losing the election. If you make a crappy movie, sometimes people won't want to see it because it's crappy. And sometimes, really good movies will be ignored, despite great Rotten Tomatoes scores. But everyone likes to blame someone or something else in this world.

I've been reading that unlike Lone Ranger and John Carter that POTC5 was saved by international box office.

But yeah that POS Baywatch is DOA lol

Just going back quickly to the article about RT, the point they make is that RT lumps together reviews, losing any nuance that a thoughtful critic might have written in their review, thus becoming a metric that doesn't really reflect a film's possible impact. The conclusion they arrive at is that RT's algorithm favours easily digestible, focus-group proof movies while punishing movies that might push boundaries or be hard to categorise.
I thought it was an interesting and valid argument. Anything that purports to make things easily digestible invariably ends up catering to the lowest denominator.
While it's nice to see that WW is doing well on RT, it still doesn't make RT's system better or more reliable.

Ok, there's waaaaaay too much talk about rotten critics and Disney in a Wonder Woman thread for me.
You guys... :lol

Well the movie is just coming out today in the U.S. in a preview capacity if I'm not mistaken :lol By the weekend there should be much complaining about the actual film, don't worry.

This scene was very cheesy but I loved it (you'll understand). :lol

Favorite music piece from the whole film for sure:

This movie was ruined by critics at its release and it was a huge flop....
Where was rotten tomatoes back then to blame?

Their argument becomes invalid really fast when u think about older movies that critics crushed.

RIDDICK liked it?

What kind of alternate bizarro world have I been transported to right now?

I still don't really understand how RT works. I saw one review for WW which was fairly positive and gave 2.5 out of 4 scored rotten but at least a couple of other reviews giving it 2 out of 4 scored fresh. How does that make any sense. :dunno

I'm choosing to believe riddicks account was hacked by some rabid dc fan . No movie can sway that mans soul

Rotten tomatoes asks the reviewers if the movie is fresh or rotten. Basically they have to say if they give it thumbs up or thumbs down. They can rate it and write a review on their own website but for rotten tomatoes it is a simple good or rotten.

Then they add it up.

Thank you for the explanation. :)
Seems a pretty flawed system.

You won't like it- and if you do you will do a 180 in a few weeks anyhow!:lol

Well not an entirely fair assessment but there is some truth to it:
