Wonder Woman - June 2, 2017

I read no post credits scene, so I left immediately. And I wouldn't say this was great, but I would say it was very good. I do like Apocalypse more than Logan, but openly acknowledge that the latter was a much better made film.

That's not true, a lot of guys here have slammed it. I haven't been keeping score but it seems almost split, slightly more on the positive side.

But then those positives use comparisons to Suicide Squad and BvS as other 'great' examples... so 'positive' becomes relative quickly.

I really can't stand MoS, BvS, or SS.

Separately, I haven't liked an X-men movie since the brilliant First Class.

It really is a very simplistic movie.

Hey, for me I thought it reminded me a lot of The First Avenger. A person wanting to help in a time of war. In a way, both are fish out of water stories. Steve Rogers, a scrawny little guy with a big heart suddenly becomes this big guy who can do amazing things. Diana is an amazon warrior who can do amazing things suddenly put in this new environment. Both of them are accompanied but soldiers from different backgrounds and both lose someone close to them in the end. Only Wonder Woman ends in a twist that could have been handled better.

The appeal for me has always been setting Wonder Woman in a more 'exotic' time period to help with suspension of disbelief. Like CA:TFA and Raiders. The time period helps immensely; it was a time of heroes.


I wish they'd do a Superman movie that takes place in the 30's.

man this movie was great, i really wanna see it again and it's only been a day. the WW sequences are spectacular.

especially that no man's sequence, great stuff.

it doesn't surprise me that SSF's is tearing it apart but i'm glad that the majority of people who have seen seem to really like it. It was time for a popular win for D.C., and they really kicked some ass this time around.

I thought it was an ok movie. The best DC's done so far. Sorry if you feel that's trashing it. Maybe I expected more?
