Re: Wonder Woman for late 2013

If exclusivity is part of the reason CBG is in the hobby, I say lament away. He is part of the customer's voice that keep SSC in check. But that voice must be excercised not only here in the forums, but with your wallet in your buying decisions. The market is saturated with other companies. SSC is saturating many of the lines with the many different versions of each character. Now, each line is saturated with high ES. It is possibly why Superman ES is lower than Batman ES because they are adjusting to consumer demand, like CGB, who value a low ES.

If everyone is as understanding as you, Spidey, SSC will go the way of Bowen. :wink1:

Actually if you think about this the Superman Regular ES is lower than the Batman Regular ES but the Exclusive Numbers are Flip flopped. Why? Because the regulars are ordered at a wholesale level. Batman is always ordered by retailers more so than Superman. They needed to meet wholesale demand with the regular numbers and Batman usually sells twice to a retail market what superman does.

On the Exclusive level though, they perhaps though that the Superman change of head would be more sought after than the Batman Batarang...well maybe they jumped the gun on that. Either way both EX editions sold out so it's win/win for them.

Exactly my point. We are all (myself included) sending them signals that higher prices, higher ES and questionable exclusives (Sup, Punisher, HQ) are all OK. Feed it to us and we'll lap it up. So a bit of "lamenting" about the good 'ol days I would welcome.

Snoopy approves! :D

Shield, Sword and Lasso! I want all three!

Ditto! Give me all three OR FAIL, Sideshow! :lecture

Re: Wonder Woman for late 2013

Yeah, that's why she's such a grail these days.:lol

Your definition of grail is much different then mine. Just go on ebay and buy one. Just because she goes for a lot of money doesn't make her hard to find. And I can't account for people's taste. :lol

Re: Wonder Woman for late 2013

People call Doom a grail, I see him on ebay all the time.

Honestly I don't see why doom is a grail? He's not a top most want character compare to spidey, capt America, wolverine etc. This is my own opinion here. I think he's a grail because he goes for a good chunk of money now and that he was done well somewhat rare from SS first statues. Maybe SS can make a repaint with a bit of chrome on him? :D

Re: Wonder Woman for late 2013

If you see this statue in hand you would be singing a different tune. Once I laid my eyes on the statue I considered it my #1 priority to get despite Dr. Doom not being my favorite Marvel villain of all time. Once I got it in hand it was even more than I expected. The presence of the pose, the level of craftmanship on the throne itself is second to none, and the tailoring are all top notch and at a level never seen again from sideshow after this statue was released. Also with the edition size being so low I know not very many people in the world will own this grail of mine and will make my collection truly unique.

Doesn't have nipples or an *** CBG can't understand it....:lol

Re: Wonder Woman for late 2013

Honestly I think SSC should move to a low EX number to satisfy low ES members and those of us who like EX are OCD enough to be able to get one on the first day of PO.
Then make the reg huge numbers for everyone else who doesn't care.

An, but low ES means that SSC gets a smaller piece of the pie initially, and that there is a higher chance of missing out on the Ex if you aren't right on the order button. How long did it take the Droids to sell out?? Mins?? I can't imagine if I had missed out on Supes for a smal ES :lecture

Yeah cause missing on the bleeding eyes would be such a tragedy :wave

Honestly I got most EX but I'd be totally happy with the regs for Ivy, Supes, Bats, Harley.....

Re: Wonder Woman for late 2013

I just think Sideshow should make the ES low on exclusives and keep them high on regulars. That way everyone can get the statue in some way shape or form and the people who moan and cry about low edition size can have the pointless exclusives.

Re: Wonder Woman for late 2013

Sideshow should just leave it as it is now. All the complainers should stop buying and invest in something else. There will be plenty of new collectors to take their place.

I humbly disagree; the allure of owning a Ferrari is knowing you have a premium automobile that is unique and rare. In many cases, they hold or increase in value so paying a premium price doesn't bother their owners. Watering down that aspect by flooding the market with more Ferraris takes away all that is special about them.

To me, sideshow is the Ferrari and Rolls of statues. Sideshow has been the standard and pinnacle of quality for what they do not the Ford that just anybody can have. I for one, would like it to stay that way. There are plenty of other Companies that can take the place of Ford, Honda, etc. for statues.

I would never pay $350+ for a statue that would be worth less than I paid for it the moment I bought it. Making money consistently on these pieces is not going to be easy these days but the value and rarity is ultimately what makes us pay what we do.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snake Retails for about $112,000 with an 850hp engine and is limited 500 total cars made world wide

Point, anyone can make a rare over priced sports car with all the bells and whistles. I think comes down to, why are you buying this stuff? Because you genuinely like it? Is it personal taste or narcissism?
