Re: Wonder Woman for late 2013

I just think Sideshow should make the ES low on exclusives and keep them high on regulars. That way everyone can get the statue in some way shape or form and the people who moan and cry about low edition size can have the pointless exclusives.

Won't happen. SSC does not discount EX statues. It does discount the REGs to retailers and merchants. The whole point of an EX is to keep more profits in the pockets of SSC. That's it. It sure isn't to make a low ES on a statue that would cut into their overall profits.

:goodpost: I hope all this backfires on the greed sideshow has become on the long run. I would be a happy camper! :wink1:

SS is a business. They have to cover their expenses and overhead, plus deal with the cost of living in today's world. Yes it sucks that prices go up. If you don't like it, don't buy. Simple as that.

It's not greed. I'm sorry if you don't understand that businesses are made to get money. Sideshow products continue to get better, they make more of them, they grab more licenses, and their prices also rise. This is much better than other companies, which continue to release subpar products and yet elevate the price constantly.

And I find it funny Sideshow's so called "fans" keep wishing for their demise. It's like Capcom fans. What do you guys want? You want Sideshow to go bankrupt and not make high end statues anymore?

I will NEVER understand these ES crazy minds. I just don't get it. So something isn't worth it unless other people can't have it or unless they can't have it at a premium price? That's the most selfish and greedy concept to me. I don't see how mass producing something, a common element in every business for the last two hundred years, is somehow vile and terrible yet collectors being complete children trying to hoard away their toys from the other kids is considered a respectable practice.

I'm glad Sideshow doesn't go on these boards. If they read posts like the stuff CBG and actually listened then they would be an awful company. They know their fans too well, well enough that they know their fans have nothing worth knowing :lol

:rotfl I find it hysterical. It's like this is the only thing they've ever collected. Can you imagine them collecting comics or sports cards? :lol

CBG, didn't you hear yet....greed is good! :lol

For those of you that think the ES on SSC's DC pieces are huge ask yourself one question....do you really think SSC couldn't sell more EX Batman, Superman, Posion Ivy, or Joker PFs at retail right now? As large as the ES was on those EXs, SSC could sell more at retail without a problem. The demand is obviously there. Peeps are paying above retail on the bay for these pieces right now.

As for the REGs, let's wait and see. Joker has been out for less than a year. Far too little time has passed to see if SSC over saturated the market with that piece. I don't know of too many REGs of any character that have skyrocketed in value within a year of release.

SSC is a business. I expect them to maximize their profits. I also know that if SSC consistently overproduces their merch, they will readjust their business plan if they want to stay in business. The market will force them to make smaller edition sizes on their merch if they want to keep their profits in line.

I realize that most of us have never seen these kind of edition sizes on SSC merch, but if they are selling, what can anyone really say? :dunno

I don't have an issue with higher edition sizes. Especially when they sell. My pet peeve has always been no ES. I ALWAYS want a number on my collectibles. ALWAYS!

If CBG and all those wanting low ES want to have a rare statue, then commission one. I have more than I can count Batman statues that are very low run, rare private commissioned, etc., statues. The thing with these is they cost double what SS is charging, and they are never perfect. If you get one that arrives damaged you're SOL and have to hire someone to fix and repaint it. SS does an amazing job with their sculpts, and paints, and adds clothes. Their prices are high, but not that of what you'd be paying for a private commission. It's like buying a top end sports car. If you want the best, you'll pay a little more. If you don't want to pay, don't buy. And 2000 ES for an EX is really not that much. Once it sells out if the character is that popular, like Batman, it will go up in value. If the character isn't that popular, then who knows Bottom line, it's still a pretty exclusive club we're in.

Let me ask you something ... if you have the chance to make $90 000 or $1000 000 dollars which are you going to take.

CBG I mean this with ALL DO RESPECT ... you have been going on and on and on ... SO much about this issue ... in MULTIPLE threads... Honestly, I am considering putting you on my IGGY list m8. I like you, but it is just to much m8.

P.S. I have learned my lesson ... can you???
