No intrest in this whatsoever. But I love how she is holding the spear over her shoulder. Very cool. It looks like it should be a winner.

I totally agree with you, absolutely. This is why I hardly come on the forums anymore. The b*tching and complaining about ES and QC happens within about the first 24 hours and continues for the next year until the statue is released.

I've already seen comments about googley eyes. Some people just have to remain as complainers to make themselves happy.

And of course we get the same group of guys btching about the complainers that are complaining about es. Its a vicious circle. If you want it to stop and just have a good convo, then quit btching about the btchin and move on. Its the same old btchin over and over again with the same people. :lol Better yet, just leave so that we dont have to hear your btching. Its one less btch to hear the btching. :slap

Agreed. I don't get the people that are always complaining about what they perceive as complaints "just because", and other people consider appropriate comments based on plain observation.

I understand complaning about the same people constantly *****ing. That gets on my nerves, too, really. If you (a generic you) have something to say, speak your mind and move on.

But complaining about a valid comment that some people make once in a thread about a new release* —because, you know, this is a forum about this such stuff— and always looking down on those people with the usual "Some people just have to remain as complainers to make themselves happy" droning —because, you know, people adore receiving flawed statues just so that they can go post it in a toys forum and feel like their life is fulfilled— is just as annoying.

I was one of the people wondering how the eyes of WW may come out in the final product, both here and on the SF forum, but I left it there. I said how I would like for Sideshow to do the kind of successful paint job they managed with the Storm PF —which incidentally kinda bugged me because I guess I didn't get a chance to make myself happy complaining— instead of what they delivered with their Poison Ivy pieces, a great deal of which had an unacceptable paint job eye-wise.

* Actually, I've always had to keep talking about it for a few more posts just to defend myself from the usual same people attacking me for expressing my justified fears.

Funny thing is, last time this happened, I turned out to be right - lots of Poison Ivy PFs ended up having a paint job that left a lot to be desired. Funnier still, one of the people that had been VERY rude to me received one of the worst examples. This is what I replied to that felllow member back in the day.

Shoo said:
I am sorry you received it like that (eye and all of the other issues) and I'm glad you're gonna have it replaced.

And yes, like you said, other pieces posted here (not all) have that eye issue as well, even if owners and other members won't acknowledge it.

That's exactly the reason why I said I feared for this statue when that production sample turned up on that European con. I said that, while not as blatant like on some previous pieces, her eye was slightly off, and that given Sideshow's track record and the fact that such piece was being displayed (meaning that one was the best they had available at the time), I worried about what we'd be getting.

I got jumped on by a few people because of that. From the 'it's just the angle/lighting' thing with varying politeness (which imo has no effect on such a thing as a lazy eye, as I also explained) to the downright rude comment.

Yes, I could have waited for in-hand pics, but since that was clearly a production piece already, this is a discussion forum and I gave what I thought were reasonable arguments without making a fuss at all, I found some comments were uncalled for.

Like I said, not all Poison Ivies have come with a lazy eye. In fact many have them perfectly aligned. But there are still some googly ones.

To sum it up, 1) it's a shame that Sideshow doesn't etch eyes in so that workers can't ****** them up so often, and 2) people shouldn't get so worked up for no reason sometimes and try to pay attention to what's being said, instead of going the route of "some people always like to complain".

Congrats to the happy owners of this piece.

Does what I just highlighted ring a bell?

Ryan, you were one the members that said I was being a ****** —not your words, mind you— just for mentioning the possibility the paint job wasn't going to be all that great, as well as —unlike the member I was replying to on my quote above— one of those that I said were not recognizing later that their Ivy didn't look like it should, whether that deliberate or, like I'm sure it was your case, not. But I felt it wouldn't have been polite of me to point it out since you didn't ask for opinions and seemed to be happy with it. Therefore, I refrained from saying 'told you so' cause it was just mean.

However, your insistence in scorning people who look at things in a different way —yes, it's the spiteful "Some people just have to remain as complainers to make themselves happy" bit that gets me— has prompted me to do it anyway after all this time, perceived grudge be damned.

Your own pic of your Poison Ivy PF on top. My Photoshop manip on bottom:

I'm sorry, but your Ivy is not looking straight ahead, at least not in the same exact direction with both eyes. She has that confused look so many of them had, with her right eye looking at her right and her left eye looking at her left. That's what I do NOT want for this Wonder Woman, whose prototype, like Ivy's proto, does have the focused look that a lot of production Ivies didn't. It boggles my mind that this seems to be such a difficult thing to nail for those workers. Not an impossible thing to do, as, again, the reg Storm head proved, but a constant headache with Sideshow nonetheless.

Ryan, I'd really like for you to stop and consider what I'm saying for a second this time. I don't have an agenda, I'm not out to get you or anyone else 'cause I —or anyone, for that matter— have better things to do with my life than to antagonize anyone on a toys forum.

I'm sorry I had to bring up the Poison Ivy thing, Ryan —not that I think I'm gonna change the way you see it in the least way— , but I'm quite tired of certain people pigeonholing other members as one-dimensional twats that only get a kick out of complaining unjustifiably. By all means scold those guys that keep at it over and over, but please do not hasten to refer in a derogatory way to members that might have a point, like all the ones that have mentioned it here so far, lest you want to be pigeonholed yourself as one of those "people that just have to complain at complainers to make themselves happy".

Sorry for the long-winded speech, you all.

Disclaimers:
Yes, I know this is the Interwebz and that if I can't stand the heat, blah, blah, blah. I consider myself a good-natured guy, if sarcastic, and I like to get along with everyone and always try walk in other people's shoes before I really lash out. That's why I can't stand people being disrespectful.

Yes, I'm bu*t-hurt. I'll live, though. This post was actually quite liberating in that regard.

Yes, it's a cool story, bro.

Yes, defensive much.

Yes, I know there was too much text / many of you stopped reading after the first few lines.

I'm sure I'm forgetting other ways to try and get me ridiculed, but they, it's the Interwebz.

No, that doesn't mean I'm saying WW is going to be googly-eyed for sure. Jeez.

Not really, I was just explaining my view, while you fools keep complaining about others complaining. That is all. hahaha!! Oh Ill have a great weekend. :D

Oh Dark does your butt still hurt because I wouldn't buy your signed Spiderman Comm?

Sorry "friend" but no one here should have to leave so that they can actually enjoy a new statue announcement.

Let me guess, you're in the group that Spidey was describing and that's why you're getting defensive on the topic. :lol

Anyways, I'm done discussing with you at this point, because it's so not worth anymore of my time. Have a good weekend! :)

Dark is a "special" brand of boardie. He likes to throw around threats in PM about how he will get you kicked out of various commerce boards, and sound like he has a lot of stroke, but in the end all his sound and fury tends to add up to a weak fart. Like I said above I think he is still upset I didn't buy his signed Spidey Comm and found one for more than 3 times less then he was selling his.

but but but....where would people go to share their butt hurt?

I actually would have no problem with people if they were complaining about the sculpt or an aspect of the actual statue. I just don't see the point of having the EXACT same ES, QC, SSC is the devil conversation in EVERY MAJOR thread. After awhile it just seems pointless is all.

Sideshow are greedy I bet the ES will be huge on this and I am so smart I will not PO but will wait and pick one up months later for like $20 less. Can you imagine what I will be able to do with that $20? No you can't coz you're too stupid probably.

Odoyle rule.

You could probably save closer to a hundred for the regular down the road, and spend at least a hundred extra if you don't PO the EX and try to buy it later. You shouldn't call people stupid because you're not creative enough to defend your position in an intelligent manner. But, I guess that's what I would expect from someone who has a man crush on Bruce Campbell.:lol

I only meant that you could most likely save closer to a $100 than $20 after these statues are released. I have a feeling they're going to make a lot of them. Retailers could drop the price $60 to $80 to sell them quicker, and they would still make a nice profit.
