Re: Wonder Woman for late 2013

There won't be a change of head

We don't know for sure yet, bats and supes have it so might as well if this is 400.00. I want a huge sculpted cape, big base, and tons of switch out weapons, arms, etc. :lecture

Re: Wonder Woman for late 2013

I'm not sure if she'd sell in volume at $400. She'd sell, but prob not the volume she needs to. Thoughts?

For us she's a "go", because we're completionists.

She won't sell at the same volume as Supes and Bats anyway, she's nowhere near as popular. If she's a bit smaller we might see a 385 price tag but I'm not really bothered - I want SS's WW so I have the trinity and I know it'll look kick ***.

CBG I'm sure they're listening to your requests :rotfl

Re: Wonder Woman for late 2013

I wouldn't say 50 is crazy. But 50 on top of the 100-150 difference they were charging just a couple years ago is. It's like buying gas...everyone is worried it will go up much higher that we grow accustomed to the small increases and forget what we paid a short time earlier.

She shouldn't cost a penny more than Ivy.

Ivy is a C List Villian in the Batman Rogues, and Wonder Woman is the MOST Iconic Female Comic Book Character of ALL TIME. IF done right the WW PF should be to the Poison Ivy PF what Superman is to The Green Lantern. The Icon Masterpiece to the good character statue, and yeah I am sorry that is worth $50 :lecture

If WW is over 400.00 for just popularity. It is so wrong. Unless theres a reason for the price hike. Even at 400.00 there better be a lot of extras for that price. I will not buy it. Mark my words...... Well there is one exception if the only thing I would be ok is this has a ES of 200 to 500. Saying if it's a bare bone average sculpt with no cape, or extras. Lol

You bought the Rhino, Captain Hook, Evil Queen... And ANY other number of MINOR LEAGUE characters, and you would PASS on you FAVORITE CHARACTER, who happens to be the biggest female ICON EVER, for a matter of $50???? CBG Dude I may be newer to this then you, and not have 1/90th of the statues you do, but at least I KNOW what is important to me... Do you???? Because right now it doesn't sound like it. Oh and I took a print screen of your "mark my words" statement so I can call BS if need be....lol

This is going to have a tall base be AT LEAST as tall as Joker, and be $400. Just accept it ... Or don't buy it, but know it is coming

Re: Wonder Woman for late 2013

It's possible, just think Spider-Woman PF. But that's a disaster waiting to happen

It's not the same. Spider-Woman's neck area is all costume. It's easy to cover the seam. Same with Supes and Bats. Where would they make the dividing seam on the WW PF? Her neck, shoulder and arms are all uncovered. Any seam would be very visible. For this reason I can't see a COH at all for WW. As ink said, it'll be a weapon, lasso, or shield of some kind. It's the only thing that makes sense.

Honestly I can't see a change of head working... NOW... If you want a TRUE EX... How about a change of TORSO... Would hide the seam... Kind of like they did with Gollum. I know it is unlikely, but hey a man can DREAM...lol.

Re: Wonder Woman for late 2013

You get some insider info or you speculating?:dunno

Sorry it is just speculation... But I will stand by it. WW is as iconic a female statue as Superman is for males. There is NO bigger female character. If Joker got a 24" high PF, can you HONESTLY tell me they would take one of their BIG 3 and make her smaller then Joker. I don't think there is a chance in hell, but I could be wrong. My guess is Superman is 25.5", Batman 25", and WonderWoman will be 24.5". Those dimensions will make for great display options. The other possibility is that WW might be taller with a lass or spear sticking up higher then even Superman.

Like said I could be wrong about the price and height, but I doubt it.

You may be right, but I don't think price is a big reflection of size with the exception of some extremes.

You're right, basic economics tells us it will come through at at least $400 like the others to cover the fixed costs. But I am hoping Sideshows strategy will be to push A higher ES at a Slightly lower price with hopes of selling a few outside of the die hard collectors market.

You know what could drive the price more then ANYTHING is the sales of Batman and Superman. If they are SELLING at the $400 mark WW will to. I guess we can all keep guessing, but I would be willing to guess that the sales of the Batman PF have just come back UP with the release of Superman. In fact I have heard a few guys say they just bought Batman to go with Superman.... So the wait and see game has started really. However there will be many a collector who wants to collect the Trinity:lecture

Thanks who know SS might listen to the outrage if this spikes up in price. Why would it need to right?

Spidey, yes I agree, it's tough. I know what you said but it is very tough to not get my favorite character. :gah: I'm going crazy here. I will pull a disappearing thing for a while. ......:Flush I so want this, but come on SS don't raise the prices just because of popularity here. Give us something extra to justify the costs. Well actually many extras...... That is all I'm asking for.

CBG... Dude I just don't get you... What the heck are you going on an on about. If money is SO tight sell any of the, what, 50 statue of characters you have that you don't know a SINGAL thing about the character so that you can get your favorite of ALL time!!! We are talking $50 man.

Re: Wonder Woman for late 2013

The only reason Sideshow would lower price is if they felt the standard price would limit buyer volume to a point of not generating target gross over cost of production. Which I think it would.

400 is steep for what a lot of people would consider a complimentary character. DC fans who actually follow her arc will see her being worth a great value as there is so little merchandise available, which I think is the sentiment of a lot of people in here, but how much does she need to go for for someone like me? I don't follow WW. But if made well and price isn't a barrier to entry, i would consider the purchase.

Diana is a great character. She's classic. But I don't know whether she is widely appreciated. I don't know how many people, even here, follow her story.

All good points Mr. N. though I still think she has enough fans to push her up there. Linda Carter, The SuperFriends, the Justice League cartoons. Many guys grew up with Dianna, and even though they might. Or read her stories the same way they might Bats or Supes, many will want her in their collections. I guess we will see how many.

And you just summed me up perfectly. I got to know WW more from outside the comic medium than inside (though I've since read more of her through JL and other comics). That's why this will be an interesting item to watch from a collector's standpoint. I'll "probably" pull the trigger just so I have the trinity, though I'm hoping she's not up for PO before the massive amount SS rewards I'm getting this year.

But, even my last comment could be fuel for the debate. Will she be lower in price? Probably. Will she have the same number produced as Bats and (presumably) Supes? doubtful. Why? Simply put: No matter the character, $400 is steep (period).

So, those on the fence won't likely pull the trigger, especially if we've already bought Superman and Batman in the same year. I believe SS will not want to lower her cost in fear it would make her PF seem inferior (and I doubt the craftsmanship and artistry will be anything less than Batman or Superman), but in order to ensure sales, I think she might have to dip below $400.

Or, if SS is really smart, they'll put her up for PO around the time Superman's getting ready to ship. People will see the full trinity together, but won't feel the sting of paying for all three pieces in close proximity.
