I'm glad for those that like this game and hope for SS it's a total sucess. However, I just don't see as I said already this line being worth the build up. Nash and a few others are right I think the average age of WOW is like 15-18 which means they will probably spend the money on the game. Though, for SS and the success of the company I hope they buy this stuff. For me though it's a total pass which is fine I'd rather get my LOTR, SW, and the occasional Marvel stuff.

Brock from SS is right you can't please everyone.

While I'm a fan of WoW, I can't deny the fact that I'm a little dissapointed. I have friends that will be many a happy for this, but I can't say that I am. Oh well, can't win them all. Hopefully Jan 1 will be a little bit more interesting...

I don't see this line taking off. I'm sure it will be cool, but I doubt gamers will be along for the ride. I think its 2 different markets.

Agreed. There may be a few crossover gamer/collectors, but I don't think it will be enough to sell $$$ statues. At least it will pump money into the Sideshow machine...and hopefully it will trickle down to the big kid collectors who don't sit at their Dells all day, adding +3 magic points of elf sweat to their Whimsical Blade of Futility.:lol

It's for short range dork attacks.:D

OMG...People are already calling the line a flop...how the hell can anyone here assume anything until we see what they have to offer or even how long it will take to sell out on their first piece.

Well, there are more than a few people here that seem to think they are the voice of all Sideshow collectors and know what will sell and won't. Hmm, if they're so smart I'm wondering why they don't work in Marketing for Sideshow.:monkey4

One could ask how you even know that superagent :lol :lol Some WoW elves might be used for some custom LoTR elves, which could be interesting. Interesting characters like these should make some interesting figures

Well, total pass on this one. But I'm sure gamers will be happy... that is if they have any idea what Sideshow Collectibles is.

Here's hoping for a cooler announcment (to me) on Jan 1!!!

You'd actually be surprised how many 25-50 year olds play. IF each of them bought just one statue, you'd be looking at 25000+ statues sold...more than enough to make this line successful for Sideshow and Blizzard.

*starts making a list of the naysayers so I can compare it to those searching for the first statue in 18 months*:lol :monkey5

HALO !!!!! Sideshow should make it a total video game domination holiday...THOSE halo suits are great

Are most of the people here under the impression that only 10 year olds play this game because that's what was on an episode of South Park? Yeah, the age groups for this game are a lot more varied than that. It's kinda like the Dungeons & Dragons of this generation. Instead of boards, we use computers now. God knows there were a lot of older people who played D&D back in the day, and even today.

I don't think its that really I know a few people who are obsessed with this game it just never really appealed to me is all, not to mention those who play this game wouldn't really clunk down the change for a figure or a statue from WOW so I'm wondering just how successful these will be. I think it'll come down to the final look of whatever is offered. A cool figure is a cool figure and if they do them more than just WoW gamers will be into them. I dunno its kinda anti-climatic is all....

7 million players!!! hope that Sideshow knock the edition size to max 2000 ( excl. + reg) I know Sideshow will be showing lots of potential on this line....or not. I will reserve more judgment when I see the first statue. :chew

I'm sure there are just like I play GOW, Halo, or something else on my 360. However, I doubt every one of them buys a statue but for SS sake I hope they do. I just don't see this having that much of an impact especially since I think these will have to have small ES to sell fast enough.

You can add me to the list of people passing. I can also guarantee I will not buy one.

Star Wars has been around for 40 years??

news to me

...Yeah, I saw that he wrote that in that other post.
That was funny....It would make the offical 30th Anniversary Celebrations in LA and London seem - off track a bit! :monkey5

You guys will suprised to see how many adults play this game. Most of them are infatuated with this to an extent that buying statues of their favorite characters will be a no-brainer. My Biochemistry professor plays it on a regular basis and I am sure if I tell him about the statues, he'd buy them in a heart-beat.

Again, I'm sure a lot of adults do. However, that doesn't mean this line will be a success for SS. I'm sure these folks will buy their favorite characters but how many will buy more than one? How many will buy any? This is a line with high risk and high reward.
