I feel like theres going to be alot more to this movie than the marketing suggests. Seems to have alot going on, hopefully that will be a good thing.

So far, the marketing suggests the zombie swarm will climb a wall, flip over a bus and chase Brad Pitt on the roof. Over and over.

I think they know the book fans and zombie fans are likely going to be disappointed and critical, so they are trying to disguise the movie and sell it to a different crowd.

Zombies that move like ragdoll ants on acid and Brad Pitt with a unattractive wife.

Pass.......

Brad Pitt isn't a dreamboat in this either. :monkey4

His fiancé isn't attractive in real life so they wanted to make him feel comfortable in this.

I really enjoyed this. There are some pretty tense scenes, and the acting was fantastic. From hearing about the original ending, I'm glad they changed it. This ending suits the film more, and is more interesting...to me at least. Also, the soundtrack is pretty awesome.

Hopefully this doesn't flop due to the ridiculous budget; I'd really like to see the sequels that are supposedly planned.

Ending. I want the deets.

Spoilers for real...

After Jerusalem is overrun by zombies, Gerry gets on a passenger plane that's en route to Cardiff. On the way, an outbreak occurs on the plane, and Gerry uses a grenade to blow the plane out of the sky. After surviving the crash, he makes his way to a W.H.O. research centre in Cardiff, where, after negotiating the zombie-filled research lab, he successfully manages to infect himself with a virus which acts as "camouflage" to the zombies (the idea being that they're only interested in infecting healthy hosts). The camouflage virus is implemented around the world, thereby leaving the majority of the zombies 'dormant'. Ends with Gerry reuniting with his family.

wait a minute...

there are two different kinds of viruses?so it's like he has the virus but he doesn't really have it? no effects of the zombie virus?
does his family get the fake virus as well?
what happens with the dormant zombies?

No,

He realises terminal or near-terminally ill people are ignored by the zombies, so he injects himself with a deadly known virus (can't remember which one exactly, but typhoid and meningitis are mentioned)

so he is going to die soon in the movie? that's kind of sad

I guess the idea is that once they get the zombies under control, they would administer vaccinations to everyone who has been injected with the 'camouflage' virus.
