Am I the only one who finds this proposal more than ironic?

Dumb is the word I was thinking.

Getting rid of the Sandbox altogether would indeed mean that the spam would increase in the other threads, and we would become a veritable police state in an attempt to control it. We don't want that, do we?



The Sandbox serves its purpose by allowing members to blow off steam, derail, spam, etc. without sinking the entire board. I think it should be allowed to stay. However, a reboot/reset every 6-9 months would take care of the burden it creates.

So I say keep the sandbox, but empty it out on a regular basis.

No, it isnt. Every last remnant of the old EZ board must be destroyed.Its old and unproductive members (I.E. those who have old Weta/LOTR user names) are a dying breed on this board.They have been replaced by younger, stronger,more hungry posters who destroyed the old guard here and took their rightfull place.It all started with the Krusaders.Those who didnt fellow just went into oblivion.Yes, Wetanut, you are one of those fossile.

Fossile? Yeah, I probably am. But you see, silly me thought this board was about getting together to discuss Sideshow and other collectibles with other like-minded. Guess I'm really slow.

I don't think that deleting the Sandbox is necessarily a solution, but perahps a little more mod regulation of the forums would help.

For example, I love that we're free to start threads at will and it's a nice luxury, but I think it gets abused at times. I don't think it's necessary for someone to start an entire new thread because they bought a few new pieces and had to exclaim it to the world. In most instances, at least one thread already exists dedicated to items and forum members can share their score in the respective threads.

I don't know what it would take to accomplish it, but perhaps more indepth organization to the boards would also decrease the likelihood of repeated threads. As an example, Rebelscum forums have a section for Sideshow and within that, sections for each product line, so it's very easy to track down what you're looking for without too much digging. In the SSF Star Wars section, there are so many random, short-lived threads that bury others which leads to new threads because people weren't interested in digging further to find the old one, and I'm guilty of it myself. If for instance, the Star Wars section had categories like 1/6 figures, PF and Statue, 1:1 and such, people might find what they're looking for with better ease and just continue to contribute in a single thread about a piece.

That's just my thoughts anyway, do with them what you will.

I'm with WW and Tomandme. Keep it, just remove some of the older threads, ones not used and refresh every few months.

Well, if the old guard is being replaced then this board is destined to become nothing more than just another spot on the net. What this board needs is a cleaning of some of the new people. We have to many smart ass rude folks that are going to truly **** this board up. If thew NEW members are supposed to be making this board better then they are failing badly in their attempt. We have gotten lots of new members that are great but sadly we've picked up a lot of ****ty ones as well. What this board needs is not the cleaning of the Sandbox it needs a cleaning of some of its members. Bannings that last and keep some of them away. Not letting them back in when they say they will behave when they won't or ban people that just want to be *******s. As I said we need a cleaning but it aint the sandbox.
