Will I still post to something I like and to something I find funny? Yes of course, but not in the same quantities as the sandbox. If it makes things go smoother, get rid of it, or at least the threads that are causing the trouble. Honestly, I would like to see how many posts I lose. I also like Creecher's idea of making old commerce threads go away. I am getting tired of people sending me a pm about something I tried to sell six months ago.

I think there's a misconception here that needs cleaning up. No thread has ever been deleted, nor posts removed due to age since the creation of this board. We're on a very fast server with tons and tons of bandwidth, so I never thought it was a problem.

However the recent poliferation of web spiders seems to be the culprit in slowing down the board. In order to mitigate that to a degree I've started pruning threads and posts. This doesn't effect post count, even if the post is gone you still get credit for it. The Sandbox is here to stay - there will always need to be a place to exile a thread that has no import for 90% of the board, but someone felt the need to say it. Heck, we'd lose DannieDarko and P2 if the Sandbox were gone. And heaven knows we'd never want that.
