If yes, then who would be the best Doc - Marty - Biff and what kind of car?

I believe I had read that any future installments - that would include remakes and reboots... cannot be done with out the original film makers involvement.

Of course I could be completly wrong. :dunno

I think a possible good Marty would be Elija Wood.

The others I have no clue on. Not sure about the car either... It was picked because of the body so maybe a re styling of the time travel add-ons?

we need new ideas-----not re-????

They can make whatever they want. But it will suck and i won't watch it. I'm sure all the kids who love special effects and CGI will probably just cream themselves over the idea. Hell, they can probably even get Michael Bay to direct it.

No, not at all. The originals are perfect in everyway IMO, great stories, iconic characters and for the time stunning visuals, and the blu rays hold up and i love them.

This series changed my childhood and i love the series so much, theres no need to reboot it, just honor the legacy with anniversary theatre releases. I also loved the ride at Universal, even the games are pretty entertaining but leave it at that. No need to piss in the soup.

Back to the Future (specifically the first one) was really a reflection of its time. It was a special film in how effectively it connected with audiences in the intersection of story, characters, and execution. Its time has come and gone, and the magic is not gonna be recaptured. Seems like there should be enough original ideas out there that a remake would be unnecessary. But, there is money to be made in a brand name, and if some good can come out of it (say, a substantial donation to Parkinson's treatment), then I would actually support the move, even though I wouldn't expect much from it.

Exactly...lightning in a bottle :lecture

What about a spin-off or continuation of the story in modern times? Rather than redoing the original story.

What's the point, though? The story has been told. Comic time travel stories could be told without dipping into that well. It would just reek of exploiting the brand for cheap commercial profit. Which, again, I've got no problem with if they're donating a portion of the proceeds to a good cause. But it would seem unnecessary and cheap as a part of the BTTF legacy. Of course, there is a cartoon series.

I couldn't imagine watching this story without the 80s nostalgia. No thanks.

Edit: Thats unless instead of going back to 1955 they went back to 1985........oh wait thats called "Hot Tube Time Machine". COVERED.
