Yeah, everyone's going nuts over either: 1) cosmetic choices in the film (almost always a weakness in Singer flms); or 2) an actresses "real world" personality (which should have nothing to do with her performance).

Those things are distant, tertiary concerns for me with this film personally. Is Singer telling a good story? Is he telling a good X-Men story? Do the actors do their jobs well, and do the effects and aesthetics work in the context of the movie? And is he properly examining these characters like Cyclops and Jean Grey who have too often been given the shaft in movies thus far? That's what I care about. I couldn't care less what Olivia Munn does in her spare time, or how annoying she was when she was allowed to adlib on G4. Unless Singer extends her the same courtesy here, and allows her to ham it up, which frankly I don't see happening.

While I would like to see a better emphasis on looking like the source characters (I grew up reading the Lee/Kubert/Portacio run, and getting nearly ALL the Toy Biz figures, so I have a very distinct look for them in my mind), I REALLY agree with the part in bold.

I used to work with a guy who would criticize me for Tom Cruise being one of my favorite actors (if not my number one), throwing all these quips about his personal life as proof that I was wrong. I told him the funny thing is, I didn't even know about half the stuff he was saying, and that I could give a **** less about Tom Cruise the guy...I only care about Ethan Hunt, or Vincent, or Capt. Algren....and that it was comical how he hates him, yet knows details of his personal life.

Yeah, Cruise really is the worst victim of this. Yes, he's nutty in "real life." But I'm never going to have him over for dinner. His kids aren't hanging out with my kids. I'm going to watch him make great action movies to entertain me, and I'll enjoy those for what they are.

If Arnold Schwarzenegger or Bruce Willis admitted to raping a kid, would you throw away their movies?
I want to say yes, but I am admittedly still a huge fan of Chinatown despite Polanski essentially raping a 13-year old girl. If I could beat him within an inch of his life with impunity, I can't say that I wouldn't.

Similarly with Singer. There's been no evidence that he raped underaged boys, but did he take advantage of young male actors? Very possibly. Many other producers have likely done the same (with either boys or girls), though we'll probably never know.

I'm sure there is a threshold for everyone past which real life behavior affects ability to enjoy their work, though. Maybe some are so upset at Arnold impregnating that maid that they won't watch his films. I'm sure lots of people won't watch Cosby anymore.

The look of Apocalypse..this is a joke? I mean really I'm seeing some stupid looking costumes and such- but he looks like a character from the Bannana Splits..be laughed off the screen

Having revisited DOFP this week with the Rogue cut I will say that the QS scene still kicks ass.

I was on the hate train when we first saw what he'd look like... and then ends up being one of the highlights of the film. Hopefully Isaac has a substantial performance, and he's given an array of abilities (change size, or appearance) Because right now, I'm not a thrilled about it.

I see now why people hate Munn, but the few things I've seen her in where there's actual acting, she does a very good job.

It's objectively more understandable to be upset about Apoc's costume than this:

-snip-

She's a ***** and all but she's not a bad actress.

Watching that clip reminded me why I stopped watching the West Wing.

well Jubilee is kind of cute but I was more thinking about bread face over here...

Olivia Munn is a succubus.

:mwaha:mwaha:mwaha

I hated the new Sentinels initially, but in the end I didn't mind them at all. They at least portrayed them in the right way and being a true threat, since they were essentially unkillable.

I agree. I felt the same way about the sentinels that I feel about Apocalypse. In the end, they fit the part. However, I still do want to see the classic 10-story tall sentinels that we all know and love on screen.

I'm praying she deep throats something in this movie. We can rule out the director though.

Terminator Genysis and Die Hard 8 need no additional reasons to be thrown away. :lol

Add Jurassic World to that list.

That's a good point actually. Now that I look back at the original, it's obvious there is a purple light on the actors, even Munn's hair is purple.

Or Singer is just too great of a director to allow visually bad ass villains in his films.

Yep. HAIL mighty Photoshop!

Best mock up

They'll obviously CGI him otherwise Apocalypse clearly has a Napoleon Complex

Her hair is supposed to be purple

Look at the EW cover pic.

I doubt they'd release these photos if they planned to CGI this shot. This will most likely be how he appears in the film. What I don't get is how much taller is he on the EW cover...

A magazine cover can't be used to judge anything. I'm sure Tom Cruise is made to appear taller than everyone else on any given cover he's on.

He's tiny and looks exactly like that in the leaked footage too though. They could mess with his face, but I think that's his standard height.
