Yeah, I sure as hell wouldn't put this alongside TFA, Avengers and the like. TDW, AoU, IM2 and those flicks sure. But the former ones? Nope. Apocalypse has tons of problems. It's cheesy at far too many moments, too many actors phone it in, J-Stique, Magneto's heel turn, it's all mess. A 7/10 is very, very generous as far as I'm concerned.

I think the movie about a 6/10

Am I crazy, or do was this actually a good movie until the 3rd act? I don’t maybe I need to see it again, but I really enjoyed 2/3 of the movie. Then everything just goes off the rails from there.

I'm now reading that Singer is taking himself off Brokeback Mountain Wars, but producers are saying otherwise.

:lol

One thing I'm wondering based off the reviews is whether or not Singer just went "full Superman Returns" again. I revisited SR for the first time in quite a few years a couple months back and other than the peeping tom moment was surprised at how good it was. I kept thinking "maybe I was wrong about this movie." And then...it got bad. And it stayed bad. And it stayed bad for like the last 25 minutes of the movie. There was just so much awful for so long at the end of SR that it tainted the whole thing and reminded me of why I hadn't revisited it in so long. When Singer goes off the rails in the final act he really fails spectacularly.

1. There was a lot of really bad stuff in those first 2/3

2. Brett Ratner could make a better film out of this terrible script

Superman Returns was a film that was a lot more boring than I expected it to be given the subject matter. So not a bad comparison.

What was really horrible in those parts?
I'll have to watch it again to make a long list. :lol

The whole Auschwitz scene was poorly directed and terribly cut.
Don't tell me you liked that cartoonish crap with Erik's girl and a bunch of deers...

I was talking more about the narrative but yeah some of the editing throughout the movie isn’t very good and some of the CGI is downright awful. I still think the first 2/3 was very good though. I’m probably going to go watch it on the big screen next week so I’ll be on the lookout for more horrible stuff then :lol

I just want to hear pturtle admit that Singer directed an X-Men film that flat out sucks compared to what we're seeing in the MCU.

Say it, say it, SAY IT!!!! AH, AHH, AHHHHHHHHHH!!!

I think I'll enjoy this film because I'm really only looking forward to Jean Grey and I've read enough good things about her role that I'll probably be satisfied :lol

I enjoyed this movie more than Iron Man 2 &3, Thor 1 &2, The Incredible Hulk, Cap 1, Antman, Age of Ultron, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Civil War. Take that MCU fanboys :pfft:

What was wrong with the first half of the movie? And damn, you rated this higher than me :lol

Eh, I've got low standards. I mean, I've seen ROTS like, 30 times or so. I'm an easy man to please. I like Matthew Brodderick for ****'s sake! :lol Kidding aside though, I rated it as a fun, enjoyable CBM, not just as a movie. The Quicksilver scene, Fassbender and the 3D-Boob Windows make it a 7/10 on the "I spent an enjoyable afternoon" scale. But as a regular movie, it has many problems. Plot holes, cheesy writting, motivations that make no sense, stuff like that. And besides, I always start high and then fall. I rated BvS a 7/10 at first too, but now it's more like a 5/10 for me.
