OK... So I have not seen this yet and I am afraid to read too much due to spoilers... What is the general overall feeling of this film? Just curious what the freaks think... I started to read but seemed like some spoiler talk was going on.

Oh and I love this Gif. :lol

"Deadpool, the movie you have to be 17 years old to see but 16 years old to appreciate." That about sums it up.

I'll take something ambitious and chaotic done out of respect for the source any day over something censored and restrained to appease children and sell toys.

Nice try with that "you gotta be 16 to appreciate Deadpool" bit though. I hate to break it to you, but its your beloved MCU that's being made first and foremost for the high school crowd.

Deadpool is miles ahead of everything else this year. It was truly ambitious and pretty much the opposite of safe. Its a movie FOX should have made years ago and one Disney [foolishly] would never make.

I have no problem with anyone thinking this is the best movie of the year, it was ambitious and unique but judging it for what it is, it felt nothing more than a MCU film, just with tons of cursing and blood. There was no real depth, no real explanation on why Wade breaks the fourth wall and is so crazy, and for me at least, a lot of the jokes just didn't land. I get why a lot of people enjoyed it though, but the cursing and violence to me, is the only thing that separates it from the MCU films.

There should never be an explanation of why Deadpool breaks the 4th wall. Never.

It beats the purpose of it, if you're a decent comicbook reader or deadpool fan, you can come up with your own conclusion, (and there are a few light implications around), if not, you don't need/deserve to know.

That GIF is ****ing hilarious!

I think if you were excited by the trailers then you should go see the movie. There's also plenty of leaked footage online to help you make up your mind if you're still on the fence.

Really? I'm not a Deadpool fan but I thought after the torture and experiments would be a nice reason for him to start breaking the fourth wall, and do all that other crazy stuff, but he's literally Deadpool personality wise before the experiment just without the powers. His character didn't really evolve at all.

I don't care about the 4th wall breaking specifically, but I would have liked the experiment to psychologically mess with him more than it did. I can watch a movie like Ferris Bueller's day off and not mind.

I didn't say there shouldn't be a reason, I said it shouldn't be explained, and yes, you're onto something, if you ever wanted to read DP comics or comics in general, it would be very apparent to you why he can break the fourth wall, you're a smart cookie.

As for his personality, DP rarely ever evolves, and whatever development he has, more often than not, is scrapped, due to the nature of his brain.

DP is supposed to be a gag character in his core, so its alright.

I didn't think it needed to be explained but would have been a nice subtle touch to show the experiment did more than make him ugly. I don't mind the character though but I think I'd prefer seeing him in an ensemble than his own movie. I think other characters reactions to him would be funnier and more enjoyable than his jokes.

DP was wasted in his own movie, so many funny scenarios and jokes they could've pulled off with him all squandered for a half baked revenge plot and jokes not even funny enough for Norbit 3.

Not understanding the DEADPOOL hate, either. That's a fun movie and pretty darn faithful to the only Deadpool in the comics that was ever interesting (which is the recent one, NOT the early Liefeld garbage). Yes, it's juvenile, but that's the point. And the revenge plot works okay for an origin flick, I suppose.

I think it was a decent introduction, and kinda remarkable in some aspects with the budget they had, but I expect a much much better movie in the sequel.

There are about 3 or 4 DP incarnations that are worth mentioning, one of them is garbage, and half of the Deadpool in the movie is that very incarnation, which is why the hate.
