No, she does not.
Raven is a hero figure and kicks ass at several points, which is the epitome of gender equality.

K, yeah I agree with RIDDICK. When you look at it like that, why should this be any different than if Apocalypse had Wolverine by the neck.

The idiots at FOX didn't see this coming...

Actor Rose McGowan has criticised advertisements for X-Men: Apocalypse which show Jennifer Lawrence’s character in a chokehold and which have been questioned by others for trivialising the issue of violence against women.

The promotional photo, used on some posters and billboards for the film, shows Apocalypse, the villain played by Oscar Isaac, choking Mystique, played by Jennifer Lawrence.

The image is sometimes accompanied with the tagline: “Only the strong will survive.”

Actor Rose McGowan shared a Facebook post criticising the posters with the comment, “**** this ****”.

“There is a major problem when the men and women at 20th Century Fox think casual violence against women is the way to market a film,” she elaborated in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter.

“There is no context in the ad, just a woman getting strangled. The fact that no one flagged this is offensive and, frankly, stupid.”

She quoted a friend’s discussion of “the brutality of that hideous X-Men poster” with his nine-year-old daughter.

“Her words: ‘Dad, why is that monster man committing violence against a woman?’ This from a 9-year-old. If she can see it, why can’t Fox?”

A representative of 20th Century Fox has been contacted for comment.

Cluster **** of a movie. Simon Kinberg and Bryan Singer couldn't come up with an original script / film if their lives depended on it.

I feel like the mindset of Fox's promotional team was to show how serious the X-Men are in trouble because Mystique, the hero and badass of these films is in danger :lol

The world really confuses and sickens me in some ways. What a ridiculous thing for people to complain about.

Well Fox might sell some more tickets because this film is going to tank this weekend..not that it was a big smash the first weekend...

I said that it's not a great image to promote with limited context. In the movie itself it was fine. Nothing in that poster says "here is a woman who kicks ass, behold gender equality." Is it worth getting into an uproar about? Nah, because as has already been mentioned the crazy designs of Apoc and Mystique at least show that there's some wild and crazy heightened reality going on. But it isn't the best marketing image for anyone not familiar with the characters and series IMO.

Too bad Apocalypse wasn't actually that big compared to the X-Men. Comparing head sizes, he looks to be at least in the 7-1/2-foot range. Even the guy with the $1,000 photoshop poster budget can see that Apoc needs to be huge, whereas the folks with the $150 million budget are content to let him parade around sub 6'.

Still pulling for the movie to be a reasonable success, but with competition already coming into the theaters it's probably going to start fading quickly.

This is why companies need to test images among various audiences. It's not just about being PC, it's about being a smart marketer. What might say badass villain vs. mutant hero to movie geeks. one demographic group, might say something entirely different to another demographic. It happens all the time. And then you've got a PR nightmare on your hands. As if the movie needed that. Somebody's going to get scapegoated for this--the junior guy in the marketing department, a freelance graphic designer or some other small fry. It won't be the knucklehead Chief of Marketing who probably gleefully signed off on it. The execs know when to run and duck for cover and offer up a sacrificial lamb.

I think that's why the inserted a giant Apoc during his battle in Xavier's mind.
