I just was able to see this over the weekend, first time. I had lowered my expectations to an unprecedented low, and I actually wound up liking it. There are a few things I wonder if that is how they transpired in the comics but overall I thought it was ok. Turner as Jean was a bit weak at times (I just don't think she's that great an actress, NOR is Sansa a fave character of mine on GOT so that may be playing into it). I thought Munn was ok as Psyloche and I'm starting to like te guy who plays Quicksilver. Still not a huge Cyclops fan (never have been) so it doesn't matter who they get to play him, he'll never really impress me. Ok I give him 'OG' status with the team but still, never a huge fan.
Yes I believe they are setting up the 'new' xmen actors, which makes me wonder, now that Macavoy and Fassbender have done the roles 3x already, how many more will they go for before they need to 'reboot' it again (or at least for those 2 roles). The Wolverine cameo was decent and loved that they stayed true to the comics for the weapon x outfit, that was a neat touch. I personally liked it better than CA: CW but I know that goes against the flow. Way better than BvS as well. Solid 8.5/10 in my book.
Question for the comic readers, re: storm. Was she originally part of Apocalypse's entourage? I knew Angel was but i thought Storm was with some African tribe or something?
