X-Men: Dark Phoenix

The negativity kills me in here. Really not a good time .....

But the young cast was great in apocalypse, it will be really just jumping into with the team already together. I just think it's a shame they are doing Phoenix so soon. A space superhero movie though is an absolutely great idea. Xmen is always up to something a little more original then the other franchises .

One movie that isn't univerally praised in the recent series and everyone expects nothing but the worst. I guess that's the internet age. First Class, Days of Future Past, Logan, and Deadpool were all praised. Kinberg is an unknown as director, and has a mixed record as writer. Lawrence is annoying. But as per usual with the X-films, I'll go in with an open mind and hope for the best. The most important comic book and team to me personally, and this storyline is based on one of the most classic comic runs I've ever read. The young guys who started in Apocalypse have a great deal of promise. Turner is a solid actress. Fingers crossed.

Wow, that sounds... absolutely nothing like X-Men.
In fact, it sounds more like Fantastic Four.

The space aspect is definitely something the X-team were involved with pretty frequently. Phoenix is a galactic entity, Starjammers, Lilandra and the Imperial Guard, the Brood. But the X-Men as publicly loved heroes is really weird. They ain't that.

I like X-Men Apocalypse, but not because of the new young cast. In fact, I don't really care about the young cast, so there's no real attachment or emotional connection with most of the characters in this movie.

If anything, Jean Grey's transformation in X3 meant more, because they had 3 movies to build that subplot, even though, those were mainly Wolverine movies. Still, when it comes to the new movie, other than Xavier, Magneto, and Quick Silver, the rest of the cast isn't very memorable.

I agree that they are rushing into Dark Phoenix way faster than I would like. This is a problem WB keeps making, and something Marvel Studios has done very well to avoid. It's not necessarily a deal breaker, but X-Men started in '63, and Dark Phoenix saga happened about 15 years later. It had impact because this character mattered to people, and experienced such a dramatic change. This version of Jean is not very well known or understood. Would have been better to hold off for another film, but these movies are always trying to one-up the previous one, and I guess Fox wants to do its version of Thanos or Darkseid, which is Dark Phoenix.

I would have LOVED to see a movie with a smaller scale focus. Like, Arcade. Or Mastermind. Nothing else! But if it isn't a world ending threat it won't get greenlit. And that applies to nearly all comic movies. Logan was an aberration in that sense.

Really ? You don't know what marvel is going to do ? Have you seen the past 500 marvel movies ?

Idk it seems like people are expecting marvel to come in and put wolvie in blue and yellow tights. And make everything perfect. As if any past marvel movie should lead to thatexpectaction of pure perfection. None of their comic adaptions have been close to the source material ..... especially the hideous go Joe rise of cobra style costumes ...
