:lol whos face did they cover up with that big pink "plus" sticker? Is it Mike Wazowski?

:exactly: :lol

I'd probably only buy a Magneto and Wolverine if Hot Toys did them.

Yup, as of now those are the only figures I want from this movie. Though that may change. Of course the only other one is Quicksilver, who is at the top of my list :lecture

I don't think anyone has ever accused the X-Men movies of having good costume designs. That one is particularly bad though.

There wasn't anything wrong with the black suits, all of them had the lining color of their comic outfits. Direct copies of those into film probably would never work.

I...what..

LOL Great gif. Like Obsolete says, this franchise has been plagued with bad design ideas, so honestly I'm not so bugged by it. I still think there are two, best ways to approach it--1) go civilian and pseudo-realistic military like First Class; or 2) go ***** out comic looks as Marvel Studios is doing with a few exceptions. This half-way stuff the X-Men have been doing never really worked for me. It just highlights the weaknesses of both approaches. They don't look fantastic and colorful enough to be good comic-styled designs, but they look too silly to be realistic.

You pretty much nailed it. I do like some of the suit designs but for the most part they are in the middle of real and fantasy.

I see your point and I agree. It's just disappointing in the long run when we're so used to seeing DC and Marvel translate the original costumes for live action just fine. I mean can you imagine if Marvel treated the Avengers costumes the way Singer and Fox treats those from this movie? You would be able to hear the fanboy cries for miles.

I'm fine with these costumes, if you can even call it that. I just wish they would have focused a tad bit more on at least adapting some of the comic costume aspects into it. It's always just been everyone attending the same leather jacket party.

That Quicksilver is just BAD though.

For Marvel Studios, the designs of their characters are somewhat easy to make for a movie. Thor, Hulk, Iron Man work because their suit are pretty much who they are. But when it comes to having a suit and giving a reason for it, things get tough. There really isn’t a reason for Magneto, Wolverine, Cyclops etc… to have a suit other than to please comic fans.

I think when it comes to “explanation suits” Marvel studios isn’t that great either. The Avengers Captain America suit didn’t look good to me at all. He kind of looked like someone who would be hired at a birthday party. Hawkeye and Black Widow’s suits were meh as well. Comic accuracy or not.
