Yeah, no thanks. I think the leather outfit from the first films incorporating the "stripes" was a better decision than that. While Warpath's look is highly reminiscent of the comic, it's the lack of physicality that hurts it. It's like casting Ron Howard's brother as Strong Guy. :lol

I don't see how you could not like that look. It's Wolvie's X-Men costume without the mask, needless shoulder pads, horned boots and underwear on the outside.
:dunno
The leather suits looked too out of place, the FC suits looked more practical.

For Warpath, the big guy from Banshee, Geno Segers would be a much better fit.

Sunspot is such an interesting looking character in the comics. You'd think they would try to incorporate that look into the movie a little. I'm disappointed based on what's shown on the Empire cover.

Ice Man, Colossus, Sentinel. Who else after that?

Yeah, love how Sunspot was done in the comics. Given the budget, I don't get why they're not directly adapting at least a few characters from the comics. Get the feeling that if they had Juggernaut, they'd go the route they did with X3 as opposed to what The Avengers did with Hulk. Warpath looks pretty anaemic, unfortunately.

I have no problems with you guys thinking this movie will suck, it’s more of your reasons for it. Every thread is filled with ranting about comic book accuracy determining whether a movie will suck or not.
Comic accuracy can have nothing to do with whether or not a movie succeeds creatively or critically. But comic movies are supposed to appeal to comic fans. If not, then why wouldn't the studios just create brand new superhero teams where they wouldn't have to share profits with Marvel? At that point, comic fans want this or that in comic movies, of course, and characters maintaining similar looks and backstories matters from that point of view. I personally understand that film and comics are fundamentally different media, and require different approaches. But I think some of what has become conventional wisdom, particularly with this franchise, is flawed logic. So, for example, the costumes they're wearing here just look like garbage for the most part. Most here seem to agree. So. . .why not try something else? After the success of Avengers I figure they would be open to that, but I guess not.

If it's not "stealth Motocross" then it's not believable!

Everyone forms an opinion before they see it, otherwise they wouldn't think it looks good enough to see "genius".
Yeah, I've said this many times before. Of course, everyone forms an initial opinion based on the available evidence. Otherwise, we would all just randomly pick the movies we want to watch out of a hat, or try to watch every movie ever made, with an open mind. And that would be a pretty dumb way to behave, because we would end up watching crappy Wayans Bros. comedies and Dora the Explorer even if we hated those kinds of movies/tv shows. Same with any other walk of life. It's called rational behavior.

Well I like Fassneto's and Wolverine's costumes, the rest...not so much. I'm sure there will be an explanation for Quick Silver's ridiculous getup. :lol
And apparently an explanation--no matter how inane and weak--is sufficient. Surely the audience would leave in a huff if we didn't get an explanation for why he looks like. . .that.

Why does this guy get a cover?
None of the other directors of Marvel movies got Empire covers.
Well, they had 25 covers to work with.

I actually didn't mind the earlier leather X-Men outfits. I think they were a great cross between being realistic, keeping the character's identity and featuring a uniform "team outfit" so to speak.

I'm not too excited about these outfits either, but I'm not going to allow that affect my excitement for the movie. Personally, I feel Singer likes to ground the character's outfits with a douse of realism and realistically for the situation these characters will be in, I can see them working. Looking forward to this flick! :rock

I'm actually cautiously optimistic about this one, as well, despite the crappy unis. I think X2 is still the best in the series, and I think Singer is a capable filmmaker. Will the excess number of characters really make the movie a huge, complex mess? Not necessarily. The Dirty Dozen worked out fine with lots of characters. It's all about how it is done. Sure, if he tries to spend 10 minutes on each character it's probably not going to work, but most likely the majority of these will have pretty bit parts. And at that point, what is hurt by keeping them in? The X-Men has been a big team at various points in its history.

Have to disagree with you. Marvel/DC superheroes are a lot bigger than comics. Almost everyone I know loves Batman, X-Men, Spiderman, Superman etc…
Mainly due to cartoons, and figures. Back in the day maybe you would be right, but now superheroes are much bigger than comics. But I will agree with you on if a majority of people don’t like the way they include their costumes, they could try doing it more comic-booky, but I just don’t think that would work for the X-Men films.

I'm from the camp that thinks Wolverine's perfect the way he is in this universe. I don't think he needs a costume. :huh

I agree on the leather suits. They weren't practical. The FC suits were a nice nod to the comics, but I don't necessarily see them as being any more practical either. Though some might have an issue with race, I think Mamoa would've also made a good Warpath. He definitely has the look AND the build.

Well fine, whether you are talking about the comics, toys, or cartoons the same logic applies. Unless folks are into Scuba Assault Batman, the Justice Lords, etc. then the basic comic designs and character essences are intact.

:rotfl :rotfl

I’ll have to agree to disagree with you on that.
