Far as I know, Marvel swept that storyline from the 90s under the rug :lol
Newsflash. They didn't.

He has bones under the adamantium still.

In fact, he became a horseman of apocalpyse to GET his adamantium back after magneto pulled it all out of him.
GRANTED< he became a horseman so that sabertooth wouldn't get selected, but Apocalpyse is the one who put the adamantium back into him.

Newsflash. I know that already. I'm just saying it's never acknowledged really, especially him becoming more feral.

Like all '90s decisions about comics, it was all rooted in the basic, fundamental flaw in logic that it was "cooler" that way. See also: cheap "gritty and modern" knock offs of the stuff popularized by Miller and Moore in the '80s, lightning Superman, mullet Superman, "rad" Green Lantern, leg belts and excessive belt pouches, unnecessary leather jackets, ridiculously large guns, ridiculously big ****s and skimpy outfits, no feet, Spawn, etc.

Sorta like the costumes in all modern X-men movies as well?
And Black Rubber/leather on EVERY other hero for a while for that matter :lol

AH! gotcha. Yeah, ALOT of plotlines got steamrolled/forgotten about when clairmont came back. Then it kinda got... sorta fixed with the breakworld stuff.

90's x-men is all over the damn place. some VERY good, some VERY VERY bad. particularly the return of clairmont stuff.

That's putting it mildly :lol

:yuck

I think the whole idea of having bone under his Adamantium coating was a brilliant idea, but it's like they didn't know where to take it after and instead tortured people with the hopes of giving it back to him.

Yea i agree it was a good story when they took it from him.

I liked the idea of the claws being surgically implanted.

The first two X-Men films were going this route as can be seen in Logan's x-ray in the first film and what Stryker says in the second.

"You were an animal then and you're an animal now. I just gave you claws."

Never noticed that major **** up on studios part.

It makes more sense for them to be implants, but I don't like the idea of Wolverine being clawless.

Exactly. :goodpost:

And what mental midget at marvel decided that to not only decide he had bone claws, nbut that they would be jagged and weird looking? Cause theres so many jagged bones in the body afterall. :lol

God Marvel has let some real winners run their titles from time to time.

Here's the thing about bone claws: there's no way in hell they'd ever "fit" inside those adamantium blades. No, they couldn't stand to depict Logan without his blades so they cheated.

Unless the adamantium coating isn't very thick. Given the metal's density it wouldn't have to be, either (the X-ray pic).

The blades always seemed thinner to me than every single depiction of the chunky bone claws I've ever seen. Maybe if they went for much thinner claws I could buy it, but the urge to make them look primal means they get to be thick and bumpy. Meh.
