Blind hate as usual I see.

Fassneto so far has the only costume I've been impressed with. Looks like a less goofy, more armored version of his traditional purple/red comic outfits.

Loving that rich, deep crimson color and the texture, especially in the pic posted above. Only thing I'm unsure about are his pants. Don't really look like they fit with the upper portion of his costume from all the photos I've seen.

He can control metal... but needs a bulletproof vest.

Quite an interesting psychological study really.

Those who hate pretty much everything about this spend more time in this thread hating it than they do in threads of CBMs they like. And when in those threads usually use the time to further whine about this.

Would be like going into a restaurant where you can't stand the food, hate the decor and the service more that another restaurant that you actually like :duh

Quite amusing really, whether they like it or not, Fox owns their thoughts.

I think it's based on this...

Similar colour, the "M" down the center of the chest is embedded into his chest plate and the way the cape hangs around his neck is similar.

I'm loving the big collar piece,

Costume looks great. Theres rumors some X-Men will have uniforms in the movie, we haven’t seen them yet.

Was it stated that it's a bullet proof vest? Whether he can control metal or not, he's going to war and it would make sense for him to have some sort of armor padding, which is what that looks like.

There are plenty of non-metal mutants that could give him a major beat-down.

It just looks like one to me, it's unknown if it has any function.

:exactly: :goodpost: :lecture

Future Wolverine is wearing something similar as well, and he is almost invincible. Safety first!

Mystique was shown wielding a plastic gun in one of the Empire pics, that combined with him dragging her in the trailer seem to show the her and her will be at odds.

Looking forward to that.

Yea, I would think. Professor X, Magneto and Wolverine all team in this to try and prevent her from going through with a certain assassination?

I think that comic costume looks silly as hell to be honest. :lol I can see how the DoFP one could have been based on it though.

But yeah, I totally agree about the collar. I love how it folds around into his cape. A very subtle, elegant look IMO.

I think it’s going to look great in motion. Definitely a step up from Vaughn’s version.

Blind? We've seen every costume in full detail thanks to Empire. We aren't going based on a headshot, we don't need to see the plot of the movie play out to know they look terrible and stupid. This could by some miracle be the best cbm ever, they will still look awful. Magneto armor is practical? About as practical as wearing red and a cape when you want to avoid being shot or drawing attention?

I was referring to Fassneto's costume, which clearly isn't "terrible and stupid".

I've already said that I think the other dozen+ costumes we've seen look boring and uninspired.

I dunno, why does he have 3 collars? Why wear armor and make it so bright. If Magneto wants to hide in plain sight, he'd wear a trench coat and fedora or something like he does several times. If he's hiding to avoid the government or Mystique, why wear a red outfit with a cape and armor on top of it all. Because armored plating doesn't say to everyone that sees you, you are a danger? Theres silly decisions just for the sake of it all but that doesn't fit with the kind of movie X-men delivers.

Why does his comic outfit look like a skin-tight latex sex suit? At least the collars look classy and are something we haven't seen before. :dunno

Is there something I'm missing? How do you know he's trying to hide when wearing that outfit?

I assume he'll be wearing this outfit because he doesn't want to hide anymore. That's kinda the whole point of his character isn't it? Equality for mutants and all that stuff. Freedom to do what they want, etc.

But his reasoning for wearing that costume doesn't bother me at all as long as it looks good - and it looks great.

The problem is that they have never been like Marvel Studios in embracing the looks of the characters but now Magnetos trying to look comic accurate but it's clashing with how they are also trying to make it realistic with body armor and straps and all the other costumes around him. It just feels out of place. It's the same reason I don't like the look of the Sentinels, they're this weird mix that gives a hint of how awesome they could be but ultimately falls short. And I just want to yell at their face to go all the way with the designs already. Vaughn got us there and now we're taking a step back to this weird bondage leather strap fetish of Synger's.

The second part, I'm just making an assumption that I think is pretty safe, that either the government or Mystique, or both, would be the reason he needs to wear armor. And again, I just think it's the case of comic and real world not meshing properly with the idea that he would need to wear armor but at the same time be dumb enough to make it red to draw everyones attention.

It's the same thing with Iceman, why does he wear gloves or a coat? I just don't get the combo of comic and real world decision making.

My biggest problem with Fass is that he didn't prematurely gray for this.

Have you seen the movie already? How do you know he is still Wants to remain hidden by the time he puts this on? Maybe there's an explanation when he does. This isn't like the Avengers where Hawkeye is ready to go to battle so he wears a nice leather purple vest and some nice shades for absolutely no reason.
