I saw the movie today and really enjoyed it. Very much enjoyed how it was done and it brought back what X1 and X2 had.

Was better than I expected it to be, but I didn't love it like others have. I thought Quicksilver was great and same with Trusk(?).

Overall a decent watch but nothing special. Definitely above ASM2 and Godzilla, but not as good as Cap2.

Returned from 2nd viewing.

Son, fell asleep, he said Godzilla much better. :lol

Wife said DOFP was good but could've benefited from more action.

I still enjoyed it.

Went this morning, crazy good.

Looking at Singers X-pedigree now he's got X1, X2, and now DofP, which could have been a mess, cause time line movies are like a minefield, but Singer not only kept it looking good and somehow plausible hevalso acknowledged the past 6 movies, just let that **** sink in. :lol

Fassbender, McAvoy, Katniss, and Jackman were all excellent.

The way they handled the face off with the police during the breakout.... anyone with upcoming speedsters (Flash, Avengers) need to take note, the way they represented Quicksilver's powers just makes you wonder why the hell every company isn't exploiting speedsters on screen.

Other things of note;
great story; awesome character interaction, Erik, Charles, and Raven actually seem like people who love each other while hating each other

Blinks power effects; the portals were well done, disorienting right at the beginning, but very very cool effects

Erik's final act; what a deranged ****, but damn Fass plays the evil but feel for me well. Anyone else find it ironic that he's been rotting for something he didn't do and what does he go do now that he's free? :lol
The whole turning the lawn into a gladiator stadium for the whole world to watch and when he swoops down with all his sentinels in tow it felt like 'pure comic book' action. He was setting the stage for sure.

I obviously need to see this again to 'soak it in' but my current reaction is this may be up there with IM1/BB/etc for me. At worse I'd place it just below that at Avengers/TDK territory. It's definitely one of the best CBMs and I think it's the best of the X-films.

It's odd to think that as it currently stands the only movies that have actually existing footage is Origins, 1st Class, and the majority of DofP, so I don't agree that Singer slighted X3, he gave it the exact same treatment his first two movies got.

Good review.

Good review.

Thanks, went in a group of 6, only 1 of us didn't like the movie, but to be fair, we were sitting in the theater and he asked who was in the movie before it started. :lol
He had no idea what the X movies were about.

My wife on the other hand was in pro mode, she was pointing out **** and tie ins to past movies that I was missing and the woman has never read a comic book in her life. Gotta admit, I was proud of her letting her inner geek run free. :clap

Exactly. And I really don't know where people are getting the idea that its been thrown out. It wasn't. The major deaths were undone by the end but they still happened in the first instance, the film doesn't pretend otherwise.

So.... how does this next movie play out, was this a hand off movie where the first class are now the featured mutants? So, AoA will be McAvoy, Katniss, Jackman, etc...?

If they stay with the 70s group, they got prof X and beast, they can add Quicksilver and they can bring in the young versions of the others. Bring in Havok as well, maybe he and recast Scott could figure out they're brothers.

Scott, " my dad's a space pirate"
Alex," yeah, so is mine....weird you wouldn't think that would be so common"

Boom! Further fixing of X history :lol

Just got back from seeing it again. Enjoyed it even more this time. The only think that could have made this movie better would have been a Adamantiumed up Wolverine in the past. The whole theater got up and cheered at the end.

I am going for my third viewing tonight.....1) wife and I along with some friends opening night. 2) had yesterday off with some spare time time so I went 3) kids bugging us all day about seeing it so being the awesome dad I am. I am taking them this evening....:yess:

For those that don't understand the end scene and how the end credits does NOT affect the new film... screenplay writer Simon Kinberg cleared up some questions some people may have regarding the end sequence and its relevance (or lack thereof) in the films moving forward.

"The post-credit sequence is a tease into what will be the Apocalypse movie. Now the Apocalypse you see – that young boy – may not be the actor who plays the character in our movie,” Kinberg explains. “It’s a deep back story glimpse into the character, but our movie doesn’t take place in ancient Egypt and will likely not star a young boy Apocalypse.""
