So I watched The Wolverine just now and I wondered even when I saw DOFP. How did Wolverine get his Adamantium Claws back in the future?
No confirmation at all but it's speculated that Magneto helped him get them back over the course of the end of The Wolverine to 2023.

Also here's a neat X-Men Visual Timeline filling in some events that people might have missed.

I had a feeling Magneto would maybe help him get his claws back and very cool timeline. Interesting.

My favourite line is Logan in the plane "You gonna pick all that **** up?"

Why is it that Cable, QS, Warpath, Sunspot and Apocalypse all have to be cute and boyish looking, just like his Superman.

Why is it that the only female character with a substantial role turns into a half woman half man sounding creature. :lol

Singer must be a very controlling director, good for him. :lol

Singer has nothing to do with it. It's just nature. When Hugh Jackman's playing Wolverine in your movie, everyone else looks like ladyboys.

You and me both, brother; you and me both.:lol I think the worst part was that I was pretty much by myself and I still felt inadequate.:lol

I am having a hard time accepting the last scene in the movie when he wakes up and everything is great and everyone who is supposed to be dead is walking around. And I blame that in part to the criticism that Xmen the last stand recieved due its characters dying off.

I enjoyed the last stand and I am trying to understand all the hate that it recieved. Is it due to the quality of the movie such as the action, pace and other elements or is it the direction they took with their characters. I can understand a poorly executed movie , but the criticism of the movie is different that what is in line with what people were expected then is it simply because they adopted a darker tone and fans are uncomfortable with the death of their beloved characters.

@Moose They way I feel about X3 is about the only way I can imagine how the haters feel about man of steel. X3 was an affront to the franchise. Apart from a few tiny good things, they insulted a lot of core characters with it as well as complete stories.

The big difference between a reboot and a sequel is that for a sequel expectations ARE validated, because a good sequel respects it's predecessors and builds upon what they made in a way that's rewarding. A reboot can do whatever the **** it wants and you either like a new direction or you don't, there's nothing a reboot has to live up to critically speaking (not withstanding many would still like it to of course), a reboot doesn't 'owe' anyone anything as it is at its core meant to create a fanbase, not serve an existing one (although again, we almost always hope a reboot serves the source material, but opinions can obviously differ on whether it does).

X3 is to this day one of the most disappointing experiences in cinema I've ever had, rubbish, rubbish film that used both its characters and its story in a horrible shallow classic hollywood BS way.

Also, X3 already teased that Xavier was alive and that Magneto got his powers back, so what do you keep? A seriously botched and lesser version of a dark phoenix saga + a wolverine that's not wolverine anymore + a shafted cyclops. Singer kept everything new that was okay in X3: Kitty, Beast and Wolverine's killing Jean out of necessity.

I'm glad they found such a classy way to retcon the franchise, as I geeked out of my mind when Wolvie woke up at the end. So rewarding. Reminded me of Inception a bit and I feel this film on a meta level came a bit full circle as Nolan made his Batman because of X1, and I'm pretty sure Singer's been inspired by Nolan in turn.

Well, I like X3, but I also think you make good sense there.

The Fass was still good in this but didn't feel as dangerous to me as he did in FC, the huge stadium lifting stuff is cool but there wasn't enough quiet creepy scenes. That bar scene is one of the best ever in a CBM.

Nothing wrong with liking X3 of course, if none of the issues many have with it bother you, but it's clearly pretty understandable when people don't (just as I completely understand why classic superman fans wouldn't like man of steel). And I also think it's pretty clear why most agree it's good how DoFP retconned it... That is to say most agree it's good THAT DoFP retconned it.

Why do you like X3 A-Dev? Despite what most hate about it, or do you genuinely like the things most fans dislike?
